This arcade works by buying a contactless card with credit to play the games. The more credit you buy the more bonus credit you get. We got the £25 card.
Me and my son played most of the games with a few that just didn't work and took the credit off of our card anyway. The staff definitely need training on customer service and the machines need maintenance even though its a new place.
Saying that, they had Daytona racing which I used to play as kid at the start of the 90s. They've got 4 adult sized pinball machines which is odd because most of the games are for children.
We spent the equivalent of £12.50 to have a go on almost everything and played a few games more than once too. I like the idea of having a prepaid card to play games but the execution is terrible. Poorly maintained even though it just opened, staff need training and the selection of games could be better.
My son's easier to please. He gives it a 9/10 and deducted points for machines not working....theres my review down...
Read moreI treated my 4 year old nephew and his friend to a fantastic fun filled day out here and it was FAB! The arcade has a great variety of games to suit ages 4+ and even I as an adult was definately kept entertained too. The games have a great range covering interests from dance, adventure, shooting, racing and much more and the photo booths were awesome too. The prices are reasonable and with lots of games giving you tickets to claim prizes we left with a bag full of toys and activities to keep the kids entertained for the next few days of Easter break too! The centre has a lovely outdoor courtyard filled with a huge choice of dining and shopping options so we ended up making it a full day out. Service comes with smiles and they offer some good value party packages too. Thanks to you team Funland for exhausting the energetic 4 year olds out for me - I'm looking forward to visiting again soon just as much...
Read moreHad a great time there. Friendly staff (the older woman working there is awesome!), Reasonably priced for an arcade in that location.
The arcade, as other reviews have pointed out, uses a prepaid card, you load money on at a machine and spend points on games. Most games have awkward decimal points eg. 5.7 tokens to play, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.
You received virtual tickets from some games, a minority of games pay out physical tickets which can be transferred onto your card.
The desk at which you spend these tickets didn't have anything interesting to us adults.
Overall I'd definitely go there again with friends or my partner, doesn't seem too bad for kids either since it's cheap and in a good location for a day out.
The selection of games is small but I thought they were pretty fun, some don't seem to work too well the woman on duty helped us out when...
