A truly unique location in central London. I first visited here when artists were using it as studios in the 1980s, but in recent years it's run an inspiring and dynamic programme of music, exhibitions, talks and all kinds of fun activities. As ever in such a city, they've been threatened with closure for the inevitable redevelopment, so make the effort to go along and support them! You won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful creative space that needs saving! Its like a village in the city of London. A hidden gem and history of creativity which must not be sold to developers! First time visit and loved it Saw GraceGraceGrace there, for a performance and speaking piece on Femiscide - 10/10. Amy the host was amazing too.

Iconic and under threat! Great gallery, many great events happening there. At the moment "Arrows Of Desire" until 20th of July. Many great and well known artists on the LGBT scene. BBC documentary upcoming! Curated by Manko Sebastian

I visited the Hackers exhibition today, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The Horse Hospital has very clear accessibility information on their website which enabled me to plan my trip. The available alternative literature booklets have a good mix of topics, anyone who has been 'othered' will find something that speaks to them. Mr Roger Burton kindly signed a copy of his book, Rebel Threads, and was incredibly welcoming. Whilst I was too shy to tell him what an influence the wardrobe from Hackers had been on me, as a very young child seeing all the weird and wonderful granted an innate acceptance of the otherness I felt. So, thank you. Places like The Horse Hospital, which feature and support what the mainstream cannot or will not, are so vital to our society as places of acceptance. I look forward to more visits, and hope this place remains ungentrified for...

nusual, weird and so my type. Firstly, the place makes you an impression just by hearing the name. Yes, it was a horse hospital long ago. The old building gets you that strange feeling and you just know there is something special inside.

If you're an admirer of unusual art -- you know you have to come here. I advert some exhibitions may be confusing or disturbing. Expect anything -- underground artists, performance artists, filmmakers, alternative musicians, photographers, fashion designers, and writers.

Yesterday there was an exhibition of drawings form Neringa Plange which I adored. Her art is different from the illustrations you're used to see. She creates an alternative reflection of feelings on fabric. What's the most surprising thing you can contemplate here? Check the events on their site and come art from a...
