Convenient and Historic - Russell Square Underground Station
Russell Square Underground Station, located in the Bloomsbury district, offers a convenient link to Central London via the Piccadilly Line. As one of the original stations of the Underground, it carries a sense of history that adds charm to your journey.
The station is generally well-maintained and clean, with helpful signage leading to platforms and exits. The characteristic Leslie Green design of the building's façade is a point of interest for those keen on architectural details.
While not as bustling as some of the larger stations, Russell Square can get fairly busy, especially during peak times. However, crowd management seems well-executed, with efficient service minimizing any delays.
One of the station's notable features is its proximity to significant landmarks and sites. The British Museum, University College London, and the square itself, with its beautiful garden, are all within a short walking distance.
The station does feature a lift, but it's worth noting that the stairs can be a challenge for some passengers due to their number (175 steps, equivalent to a 15-storey building).
Overall, Russell Square Underground Station serves as a reliable and accessible part of London's transport network, combining historic charm with...

The warning sign is there for a reason. Don't make the...
Read moreI often don't make reviews for tube or train stations but I want to give Russell square a mention. This station is accessible by lift and stairs and the lifts aren't usually crowed. I also like the Leslie green design all around the station. 4 stars and not 5 is because the way out is on one of the end of the platforms so depending on which side you are on the train, just be aware to walk at the end of the other platform. Other than that, its a great station and a good alternate to Holborn station,...
