Delicious breakfast at a reasonable price! I came here for the first time just before 10 am today on a Saturday to have breakfast and I was not disappointed! The café wasn't too busy, it's a very small café with around maybe 10 seats in total, but they also have other seating elsewhere so don't be so quick to dismiss eating here if you see that it's full! You have to order and pay for your food at the till before you are able to eat. I ordered the Full English breakfast and hot chocolate with oat milk, which cost me £13.40. The food came really quickly, around 5-10 minutes. The breakfast was lovely and the hot chocolate was nice and chocolatey! The service was also great! When I came in, I was greeted by a friendly worker which made me feel very welcomed. She also smiled a lot and asked me if I was enjoying my breakfast, which was nice! They also don't rush you at all since I took my time to finish the breakfast (around an hour). I felt very comfortable in this café and I would definitely go here again!

This bustling little Italian cafe offers simple but delicious food, huge portion, welcoming service. Chicken Arrabbiata is warm, spicy, garlicky, full of flavors, with good amount of grilled chicken. The sauce is dangerous my tasty; I almost finished the pasta. The cold rainy winter day can’t hurt me anymore. Rustic home cooking but much appreciated. The sandwiches also look amazing— especially the bread generously studded with olive slices! Looking forward to trying them. There’s always a lot of people coming in, so it can be quite stressful to make decisions at the counter (I failed to order salad today (´・ω・`)).

Very quick and tasty! Ingredients taste fresh and come out piping hot! The staff are really helpful with ordering and making sure you receive your food The prices are super what you're getting and with so many things to try, fr bagels to different types pasta/sauces Please check out the photos for the store like decor and the seating area that outlines around the shop The only gripe is that during the colder months it can be a little cold to sit down and eat as the door is always open due to diners entering and exiting Delish!

I honestly don't want to complain, but sometimes, what can you do. First, to be clear, the cafe at least did try, and actually I think they use good, fresh ingredients. I ordered the chicken special sandwich: chicken, salad, cheese, avo, bacon. I deliberately told the server that I did not want my sandwich grilled - to which she replied, 'not grilled, that's fine'. I really don't want slimy warmed over lettuce and warm mayonnaise in a chicken salad sandwich. When the sandwich came out, it had very obviously been in the grill. I told the server and she called the chef who initially tried to say it hadn't been grilled but after he felt the sandwich, he explained that it was only 'warmed a little bit' and it would be ok. He explained they warmed all the sandwiches in the grill because the gread is frozen. Then he offered to remake my sandwich. I declined - frozen ciabatta or grilled chicken salad: it's not really any better. I took my sandwich and left. I appreciate that the staff tried but here's the thing: I asked at the outset, I was very explicit so they could have told me then that they had to grill the sandwich. They would have lost a sale, but they wouldn't have got...

49 Café is part of the app Too Good To Go which helps to reduce food waste by selling reduced meals that would otherwise at the end of the day be thrown away. When I came to pick up the meals and waited for these portions at the counter I was yelled at by the manager (or owner?) of the café that I need to step aside as the "real" customers were just next to me. As I replied the man that I am happy to step aside (the café is really small so there really isn't much space) but this doesn't need to be communicated in such a rude way he went on about a rant how he said it because he didn't like they way I had looked at the waiter, he hates the Too Good To Go in general and he is going to cancel it because he dislikes the app's customers (me). This was a very unpleasant experience for me and I’m truly disappointed as I have been there several times as a To Good To Go costumer as well have bought their full priced food items at other times. Good customer service is not being nice to customers that help you profit, it is about being nice to everyone that stops by...

My partner and I walked in the rain from King's Cross to eat here. We were trying to read the menu so we knew what to order when we got to the counter. We were also waiting for a spot to clear up so we could sit together while we ate. The staff kept shouting at us to come and order, but we weren't ready.

I motioned to the servers that we were not ready and they kept shouting at us to come order. It was quite irritating trying to read the menu and make a decision while servers were telling at us- so we left. On our way out the man shouted at us, "go to Pret a Manger!" I have never been so insulted in my life.

We wouldn't dream of ever eating at Pret a Manger and we couldn't believe the staff would promote the watered down overpriced freezer food at another restaurant- especially Pret a Manger. If the staff here wish to advertise for another chain, perhaps they should have better taste and choose something else. Honestly- how can we trust they think their own food is good enough to serve if they would direct people they think are tourists to Pret a...
