What a disappointment. I can't recommend "Riding House Bloomsbury. It looked nice from the outside but we learned that looks can be deceiving. Inside seating ranges from the "modern airport" counter seating vibe (complete with power sockets) to quite nice tables. We were across from one another at the counter with a solid block of raised wood separating us. The best way to describe the staff is haphazard. I've never seen so many servers running around nor had such a hard time to flag one down. This isn't the riding house you're expecting. Starting off with drinks, the pint of lager I ordered was flat, and had a bitter and strong metallic flavour. Undrinkable without setting off pain in my fillings. Next, the food... The menu is arranged in a way where nothing quite goes with anything else. It can't decide if it's north African, Mediterranean, Indian, or modern European and manages to be neither. Nothing really appealed to me, and I was tired after a long day of work, so I decided on a safe option and settled on a burger. I say without hyperbole that it was probably the worst burger I've had in my life. Aside from the 3 chunks of bone that could have broken a tooth and the nasty fat balls throughout, it was swimming in grease, served cold, nasty to hold, and paired with bitter flavoured fillings. It fell apart in my hands. We heard other diners nearby complain of cold food as well. The side of chips that could have saved it was flavorless and didn't come with any dip or even salt. I begrudgingly finished it all because I was starving. Note also that there are no dairy free dessert options - so no help there. We came here to try it out as we'd enjoyed the riding house restaurant in fitzrovia. Sadly, this is riding house in name alone. We left with headaches, our clothes stinking of grease and kitchen smoke, our wallets lighter, with a lingering aftertaste of disappointment. We won't be returning and to save you from disappointment I wouldn't recommend you try it either. At ยฃ30/person for just a main & side (no drinks) there are far better options in the Brunswick. Try the Greek place Nostimo by Starbucks. You'll have a much better time, more friendly service, much better food, at about ยฃ15-ยฃ20/person...

We've visited before and tried a few different dishes off the menu, however recently visited on Valentines evening and had the lucky pleasure to experience the 'Valentines Menu', which was carried out over a 4 day period. Absolutely incredible!
We were greeted and taken to our seats, had the lovely Ana as our waitress and served a cocktail on arrival 'Cupids Arrow' ๐นโค๏ธ๐ฏ loved it! But my goodness were we in food heaven for that evening - jumping straight to my personal favourite by surprise ... macaroni cheese ... YES 'Truffle Mac & Cheese' like I've never ever tasted! SERIOUSLY AMAZING, it was to die for! The warm sourdough boule with white miso butter was so flavoursome, warm, fluffy and comforting, partner enjoyed the scallop skewers that came along too, and then the main was a beef Wellington with kale and a porcini sauce - our 1st experience to a speciality menu created like this and we were thoroughly impressed! The dessert was a creative, gooey & scrumptious 'chocolate love bomb', again our 1st experience and yummy yummy yummy!

ย ย ย Read moreI'm tired, sweaty, sore, thirsty, hungry. Hubby had to work in the London office so I had the whole day free to see the sights. Only thing i hadn't planned was where was I going to spoil myself for dinner. I walked out of the Galvin. The host wasn't very nice to me. Their loss. Walked around the block and stumbled upon Riding House Bloomsbury. I sat at the bar. They were quite busy. Summer is in full swing and it's only Thursday. I waited a bit. All of a sudden, this smiling woman came up to me and asked if I was being served yet. I told her no. Hold on she says and went to the other side of the bar. Gin and tonic please. A double she asks? I'm from Poland. I'm said sure! And it was then I realized that I was going to be taken care of. Through Kinga's guidance, I had the wild rice quinoa bowl, grilled halloumi and spiced lamb skewers. Melt in my mouth delicious and finished with the lychee coconut panna cotta. Traveling from New England, this place was exactly what I needed after a long day of sightseeing. I always believed that if you're treated well, then everything else falls into place and I hear that this place is fairly new. I couldn't tell. Great food, incredible service! If I lived nearby, this would be one of my go to restaurants. With that said, THANK YOU KINGA AND ANUP for making me go from a Pauper to a Princess that night! Fyi, hubby was envious of my...
