Read moreAdvice: know what you want to order before you come. You'd save alot of time. Don't just buy what was trending and viral, enjoy their other items on the menu too, they are also quite good! (imo they were better than the Beignets.)
Food: I do find the Beignets a little underwhelming, and I would suggest that you also opt for their other pastries as well which were really good. I had their almond croissant, sourdough banana cake, and fermented brownie. These were very good, especially the croissant. Also, I would recommend to pair your pastries with some kind of drink to balance out the sweetness of the pastries. I had the orange blossom honey iced latte.
Beighnets: I do find this somewhat underwhelming, perhaps I overhyped myself via social media. The Beignets were abit bready, somewhat doughnut like. The cream was light and fluffy and lightly sweet. The topping varies depending on the day. They also prepare them @11am so don't come too late or too early if you don't want to miss it! To me it was alright, but you should try other things too!
Croissant: it was buttery and flaky, and has a lightly sweet custard filling. It also had a good almond flavour but it may have a tinge of aftertaste probably from the almond extract. Regardless, I liked this one the best.
Fermented banana cake: it has a sponge cake like texture and a decent banana flavour with a nice crunchy sugary crust.
The fermented brownie: this was decadent and rich. It's flavour is not chocolate-front, it tastes more like a fudgy brownie with elements of chocolate. I feel fermenting the brownie batter gave a slightly deeper flavour which you don't find in a typical brownie. Overall, nice but I recommend pairing with a drink to cut through the richness.
Service: this was excellent, queue may be long but the turnover is fast. (although it would help to know what you want beforehand. Always good to check reviews to decide on your choices prior!)
Atmosphere: it was a charming little bakery with a kiosk design. Not really any space to sit and eat inside, but they have a few benches outside. If weather permits, I suggest enjoying your pastry at the park nearby!...
Read moreTiktok hotspot, full of influencers and hipsters alike, massively over saturated for what they produce.
Had their pork baguette, which although tasty was not worth the hefty price tag they ask for what it was, the picture doesn't do it justice but it's about the same length as a subway 6 inch, in a very small baguette, although packed nicely with toppings was nowhere near worth the £11 price tag they ask.
This place is over saturated by social media folks, who claim this to be "THE PLACE" to go for baked goods, which honestly I feel is mostly overhyped, the staff are pretty rude, just pay and go, no plesantries or information about what they have, once you've queued for 45 minutes just to get in the door which again is not very accessible you're literally presented with a card machine and a member of staff expecting you to pick quickly.
You can't really get in the door until you have queued up either as they have no real access, not suitable for disabled people either which is shocking as they have a service ramp next to the main entrance for their baked goods trolleys, so why they can ramp access is beyond me.
The food quality if average for the cost, I would of felt ripped off paying £8 for the baguette yet alone £12 but after queuing as long as I did I had to get something, I had hoped to get one of their beignets which again are all over tiktok but having seen peoples reactions outside who were lucky enough to get them in the half hour window they had stock, they all seemed rather dissapointed which says it all really.
It's the place to go if you want to look cool and say you've had one of their beignets, otherwise their are far better bakeries around, at a much more single pricetag and actual customer service not just crows waiting for you to leave, they also don't take...
