The current blue bridge was built in 1957. You get fantastic views of the lake and a wonderful vista of Buckingham Palace and just about able to see the Victoria Memorial shining in the distance. The bridge crossing the lake is known as The Blue Bridge. The original was much more ornate, and was built in 1814 to celebrate the end of the war with France. A sizeable Chinese pagoda was built in the middle of the park at the same time. Lovely to spend some time on watching all the activity on the Lake but unfortunately you cannot at this time due to Covid 19 and important to keep 2 Metres apart so am surprised it has not been closed.
