Nestled in London's vibrant Shoreditch neighborhood, The Hoxton Shoreditch offers an exceptional blend of style and service that left me thoroughly impressed during my recent stay. From the moment I stepped into the modern, chic lobby, I knew I was in for a special experience. The rooms at The Hoxton Shoreditch strike the perfect balance between comfort and aesthetics. I opted for a cozy room that felt spacious and well-designed, complete with a luxuriously comfortable bed and all the amenities I could wish for. The attention to detail in the room's decor was a testament to the hotel's commitment to creating a unique ambiance for its guests. What truly sets The Hoxton Shoreditch apart is its exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was not just comfortable but also memorable. From the friendly and welcoming front desk team to the attentive service throughout my stay, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident at every turn. However, the standout feature of my stay was the hotel's dining and nightlife recommendations. Shoreditch is known for its diverse culinary scene, and the hotel's team demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the local dining landscape. Their recommendations were nothing short of outstanding, steering me toward hidden gems and authentic dining experiences rather than tourist traps. I had the pleasure of dining at several of the recommended restaurants, and each one was a culinary delight. One standout was Dishoom, an Indian restaurant that tantalized my taste buds with its rich and flavorful dishes. The Hoxton Shoreditch's assistance with securing reservations ensured that I had a seamless dining experience, avoiding long waits. But the recommendations didn't stop at restaurants. The hotel's team also excelled in suggesting bars and nightlife options, catering to a wide range of preferences. Whether you're into craft cocktails, live music, or trendy speakeasies, their suggestions covered it all. One evening, I explored the hotel's rooftop bar, and it was a highlight of my stay. The breathtaking views of the city skyline, combined with expertly crafted cocktails and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, made it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Shoreditch. In addition to their dining and nightlife insights, The Hoxton Shoreditch also provided valuable recommendations for exploring the neighborhood's cultural and artistic offerings, from art galleries to unique boutiques. In summary, The Hoxton Shoreditch exceeded my expectations on every front. From the well-designed rooms to the impeccable service, my stay was a true delight. What made it truly exceptional was the hotel's dedication to offering top-notch recommendations for dining and nightlife, allowing me to savor Shoreditch's vibrant culture like a local. If you're seeking a memorable Shoreditch experience with excellent service and insider tips, The Hoxton Shoreditch is the perfect choice. It's more than a hotel; it's an unforgettable experience.

Unless you like MICE, uncomfortable beds, paper thin walls, and unhelpful management I would advise against staying here. I have never written a review for a business ever but our experience was so poor during our stay here and after multiple attempts with no success to resolve it with management privately that I feel the need to. My husband and I stayed here this weekend for three nights. The first night we got in we were extremely jet lagged so we just wanted to sleep to get an early start to our day. The bed was so uncomfortable and the walls paper thin that we could hear everything coming from our neighbors rooms that it didn’t make for the best nights sleep but what we really can’t look passed is our experience on night two of our stay.

After meeting friends for dinner we decided to end our night with a drink at the hotel lobby bar. I ordered two drinks and we located to the dining room which was now just used to seat patrons of the bar. Out of the corner of eye I see something scurry across the floor and then a MOUSE ran under my feet. Myself as well as two other tables in the dining room were shocked as we all saw it. I called one of servers to let her know and her expression gave me the idea that this has happened before. She got her manager who came over to the table and he awkwardly laughed/ shrugged and said “we try our best to keep them away.” Clearly this is an issue for them. Also of note being that it was a Friday night it was loud and there were a decent amount of people. It is rare that you will see a mouse in that kind of setting unless there is some sort of infestation.

Being that the manager of the bar did nothing on our way up to our room, I stopped by the front desk. The girl at the front desk when I told her, her response as well indicated that this is a problem. She grabbed her manager who said “this is very unusual for us.” He proceeded to ask for our room number and told us he would call with a resolution. No such call ever came. Prior to going to bed, I called back down to follow up and the only solution he had was to comp our two drinks at the bar, completely unacceptable considering the circumstances. PS as of today, that charge has yet to be reversed.

I travel extensively and this was one of the worst which is disappointing as the hotel is listed as a 4 star hotel. The only positive is the location but there’s multiple hotels in the area at the same price point, I’d recommend staying elsewhere. Things happen but management taking no measures to rectify the situation is what I take issue with. I’m sure they’ll comment here that I can reach out to them about this. I tried that, in person, before writing...

THE ROOMS The rooms were mega small for a 4 star hotel and not as advertised on the website. The rooms had dust and limescale in the showers, I’ve been in two rooms and both had the same issue.

I checked in at 2pm in room 535 to rest as I just came in from a 6.45am flight. I’ve asked the day before an early check in after talking over the phone with the manager that assured me he would have done his best to accomodate me earlier then that but it didn't happen. The reception staff was clueless. While I was resting between 2pm and 5pm there was some maintenance work above me. Couldn’t sleep, called the reception twice, two different people responded saying, let me fix it I’ll call you back, they never did.

At this point I woke up got dressed and went to reception to change to room 608. The receptionist was clearly annoyed, I told her I was ready she did not believe me so she made me go upstairs and call for her instead of coming directly with me. I was awaiting in the middle of the floor for good 10 minutes.

The room at the 6th was quiet until 6am when I woke up with this beautiful view and sound of the tower they are building in front of that side of the building, pics below. I understand you can’t control a construction site but you can’t sell rooms at a price between 170 and 250£ with all these disservices and noise. Or at least you should give people the option to choose.

STAFF The reception staff was lovely but completely clueless. They gave me a mini discount as I’ve noticed the rate decreased in all portals and that was really lovely. One of the waitress was clearly poorly and she shouldn’t have been working. Covid or not covid you should have a plan of action for when someone is clearly unwell both days. Don’t you pay staff when they are ill?

Lastly while I was on a work call round 12:00 a cleaning lady opened the door without knocking (I was told I could keep the room until 13:00) barging in to do a sorry face and leave. So unprofessional.

COMMON AREAS The common areas are really nice but always full of students. This Sunday when I arrived the patio, the nicest spot at the ground floor they told me it was closed, for ‘lack of staff’. Lack of staff in a 4 star hotel? Monday morning the patio wasn’t available again as there was an event. The sofas were all occupied by some people working at their laptop. Trust I understand this the vibe of the hotel but make sure there is space for the guests that pay over 200£ per night.

Really bad, I left very tired and...
