Mad World Fancy Dress Hire — Local services in London

Recently I was on a mission to obtain two costumes from the musical Frozen and after much debate from within the office in getting them delivered by mail after the other stores did not give us confidence in their array and quality, I took the advice from a friend who recommended Mad World. I, head a department for a Company who entertains and arranges private and intimate events for people who travel to Great Britain when "The Season" begins and throughout the year, and on this occasion we had a particular VIP Family from abroad who were in London for a private family event. The couple in question has a young child who has just begun to love the musical Frozen and we needed to make an impression to welcome the family back to our shores with a WOW moment, as my two colleagues would act out the role of two characters from the musical with songs, due to the Family's social position. I first rang the store and spoke to the irresistible Manager Eleni and within moments I knew I was speaking to the right person. When I paid a visit to the store the team had both costumes ready for me to look at and when I knew these were the best costumes I could have asked for, Eleni then began to "put the costumes together" with those little extras that would create a memorable experience for the family and their audience. One pays for the costumes at a reasonable price and is allowed to keep them for a week and their costumes are simply amazing and One could actually get lost in this store. But what is really attractive about this store is the team. They totally get involved with one's vision and ideas. I could actually continue with this review but I fear it may take up too much of your time. This message is for everyone in London and England, "get yourself to Old Street and pay a visit to this store, you will not be disappointed". It's only a five minute walk from the tube station. To Eleni, Dot and Elexis, thank you for your amazing and dedicated time and effort and I shall see you again....

This is a fabulous place! The team are incredibly kind, attentive and knowledgeable. Eleni helped us and was an absolute angel. They are clearly very experienced in what they do and they have thought of everything. The selection of costumes is extensive and they will even style you individually with their huge collection of wigs and other accesories. They are not satisfied till you go out the door with your entire look nailed and the prices are less than you'd think. They were so understanding about late return and little pieces being missing, and can handle most types of dirt on return so you have no worries.

I was sceptical on reading about the cleaning methods but when we got there the hire costumes were perfectly clean, they also keep well on top of repairs. It was great to know that we were not buying a load of plastic to end up in landfill, in my opinion everyone needs to hire more costumes and buy less so please go & hire a fabulous costume & keep this brilliant, creative resource going! Wonderful store, with fantastic staff who deliver excellent customer service.

Being a Business Manager in a retail environment I know all too well there’s a fine line between being helpful, and being annoying! I loved that I was greeted upon arrival and asked if I needed any assistance; initially I didn’t, as I just wanted to browse and get a feel for what was available. After trying on a few outfits I asked one of the advisers for help (sorry, but I forgot to ask her name!) She suggested a few items to try on and left me to it. I loved one of the tops she had picked, and another adviser (Eleni) suggested additional items to complete my outfit.

On that note, I just want to acknowledge Eleni’s fabulous customer service - she has an ingrained passion for what she does, and is a real credit to the business!

The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. They listen to what you want, are incredibly helpful, and are really lovely people to boot.
