It was a lacklustre experince with only 5 minuets max of happiness and pleasure ,why spend 3 additional pounds on fish food when you can ball out on a monkey key ring. The owner was far to enthusiastic and engrossed in his aquarium much like the mullets to their food . I get the theme of home bread animals that live in the sea of Lyme Regis but it’s so little selection and for the price your paying it’s a little far fetched and after feeding the mullet and holding the star fish there is no where that you can wash your hands despite their being numerous places to eat and so a soup dispenser or hand sanitizer it much needed. All in all was a unique experience, not much to offer but wasn’t shocking bad, if I was to name my favourite thing about this (experience) it would have to be the monkey key ring.
To follow up on a recent review I have been blown away by a comment that someone had wrote, they said that it was good and implying that it was really good experience, implying that it was worth the ludicrous amount of money and then went further to inforce that the children enjoyed a shed full of fish to playing a popular game known as fortnite which they spelt wrong and is completely free . It puzzle me how they could think such a silly...
Read moreAnyone thinking of going and not been before be aware it's small. Has about 12 tanks. The biggest tanks have the mullet fish the others are supper small for the fish. The size you see in a pets at home. You see more in a pet shop and that's free. This place cost £22 for two adults and a toddler. They offer feeding the mullet fish saying to put the food in your hand and putting your hand in the water. Soo many mullet fish. But you shouldn't put your hand into a aquarium water unnecessarily. Soaps, chemicals, perfume, suncream are all bad for the fish and water and cause them to get sick or die. Also if you have a cut on your hands you can get infections and diseases like flesh eating bacteria tb. Then the star fish holding cute as it is. Over handling was happening. Again noone was asked if any suncream or perfume on the hands, a star fish was just handed to them. A starfish was been handled by many people and was out of the water at least 5 minutes and just chucked back into the tank. Just felt sorry for all the marine life they had displayed in tiny tanks. Many aquarium hobbiest have more tanks and proper sized tanks for the types of...

We have visited the Marine Aquarium twice in the space of 6 months with two different sets of friends with children.
It’s suitable for younger and older children and adults too that want to learn more about the local sea life in the area and some really interesting history of Lyme Regis.
The owner was so helpful, enthusiastic with the children and shared some really lovely stories and information. My son had lots of questions and he was so happy to take time to talk to him. He gave us lots of his time, the children loved holding the starfish and he gave them lots of interesting info on them.
Each time we come back to visit Lyme we walk up to the area where the aquarium is and we’ll visit again with friends and family we haven’t bought here yet.
If you want a personal touch on a lovely family trip then here’s the place to go.
We got to also watch the local fisherman come in with their catch whom we’re equally friendly and informative to the children.
Hidden gem for sure. Well worth the money and pleased it’s going to a lovely...
