Ate here 3 times the first evening i had the souvlaki which was ok my husband had the shrimp Saganaki which he said tasted like a tin of tomatoes with some onions in and 3 cooked prawn on the top, we thought as it says Greek chef we would be ok , Nar, the second evening i had the moussaka which apart from having mince, aubergines, potatoes and béchamel sauce it bore no resemblance of taste to what i have had in Greece it was so bland, my husband had the whole mackerel with couscous which he said was cooked very well, the third evening was a complete disaster my husband had the mackerel again as it was so nice before it came out way over cooked baring in mind that it was one mackerel and couscous and some rocket and £17 at that price it should be perfect by this time has given up on their Greek food so opted for the chicken breast burger worse move it came out the chicken was so dry when you did manage to get the knife through it it came away in strands sent it back new one bought was slightly better cooked but it was like eating cardboard it had no flavour so just left the lot, ours wasnt the only plates left with most of the food on them the table next to us had the mackerel and the moussaka both of which was hardly touched we have eaten here many times over the years but it is now selling below average food for top end money wont be going...
Read moreStaff were very helpful and welcoming and deserve credit. Bar and courtyard are clean and the canopy and netting keeping the gulls out of the food was helpful. Unfortunately despite reading the reviews regarding the food, we can’t agree. Based on our visit, I’m afraid the fish and chips was barely reaching the 3 stars. The chips were pretty rank and we left most of them and the fish lacked flavour. The reason being this was cooked at too low a temperature and the batter and chips had soaked up the oil. We can only comment on our visit, and this was the experience for us. Also, we chose the courtyard to sit in as there were signs up everywhere stating strictly no smoking before 9pm. Yet apparently it’s okay to smoke at the high tables, which are in the courtyard, because the stink of smoke doesn’t waft from those tables. Unfortunately this is not the case and again this let you down. Non smokers want to sit outside and enjoy the experience, without having to sit in the smoking area every time. Sort it out please. Expected way better, left disappointed and...
Read moreWe've visited this fab place for years.
The menu has changed over the years with the Greek influence. I love Greek food, but we personally visit for the seafood. And this time felt there was less of the beautiful seafood and more Greek choices. Which I imagine through the non tourist season is an absolute winner.
This year was a little different, still covid safe, so quiet but a little strict. I felt. I understand why, especially with roudy customers. But I just stepped in for a menu when there was none outside and felt I'd be naughty.
All that aside. As always, the food was just fab. Whitebait to die for. Mussels so fresh and just cooked perfect, seabass just beautiful. Plenty of food. Good fair prices.
Children's menu the chicken goujons were not breaded or battered so my daughter wasn't so impressed. Nice chicken, but she'd have been happier with Billy basic nuggets! Kids!
Anyway
We always visit, and we will...
