Lyme is a nice town, which gets very busy during peak seasons, good atmosphere with tidy clean and picturesque beach, mostly pebble but a small sandy area near the Cobb which gets very busy. Definitely a recommended place to visit. Only thing to watch out for is the overly aggressive sea-gulls who have no qualms about dive bombing right into your food and making a quick getaway; they are only going whats in there nature (with some human encouragement, which lyme are now trying to discourage) but it can spoil an otherwise pleasant day...
Read morePlenty of car parking in centre of Lyme Regis, one we parked in was £3.00 for 2 hours, free after 6pm. If have disabled badge get an additional hour parking for free. Public Toilets right opposite, close to shingle beach, cafes, bars, restaurants and shops including fossil and crystal shops. Quite a steep hill for shops, did not need to go up, so not sure what shops there were. Sat at nice cafe overlooking beach, watch out for seagulls though, they like pinching...
