Not child friendly.
There is not a single highchair in the entire restaurant.
Bizarrely, I was told that this is because there is no space to store highchairs and hence they would never be available to any customer.
The best that the staff were able to do was to give us several cushions.
Perhaps I ought to have Mary Poppins levels of skill and the blame lies with me, however precariously perched on top of the cushions our 18 month old predictably struggled to eat and was disruptive.
I vaguely recall that my pizza tasted nice but having to inhale it whilst manhandling a small child detracted from both the experience and the memory.
There is also no pram access and no provision for pram storage. We had to leave ours in the street outside so bring a bike lock or risk it being stolen by the seagulls. I assume this is the same for wheelchair access.
There is no children's menu.
This is a mid-priced pizza restaurant surrounded by family oriented tourist activities. It is not unrealistic to assume that there would be a degree of accommodation for young children; particularly the case if you book in advance and specify you are a party including children as we did.
The staff were very helpful and polite and I don't think can be blamed for these infrastructure-related failings.
Please buy some collapsible highchairs (they exist) or advise customers when they book or arrive that there is...
Read moreWe've been wanting to try this venue for the last 3 visits to Lyme, so finally booked a table, wow what a view, totally seagull proof, lovely staff, dog friendly on the terrace only, so recommend booking if you want to take your furry friend Service amazing, very friendly, and welcoming staff, pizza oven located at the top of some quite steep stairs, so be warned, everything cooked fresh Still water brought to each table without having to ask, nice touch, large selection on menu including vegetarian options, we had the Margarita plus, and a Palma served as a Calzone, with a rocket and Parmesan shavings They were probably some of the best pizzas we have had in this country. Food came quickly and was hot, the only criticism we can offer, probably a management decision, a service charge is added to your bill, if you have received good food and service most Customers will leave a gratuity, you can ask for it to be removed but we were happy with experience, so just paid the bill , give them a try when in Lyme Regis but...
Read moreA surprising find. Tucked away on a little street in a small terraced building is a wonderful little pizza place.
Tasty dough and authentic toppings go into a wood fired pizza oven that shares the space with the rest of the restaurant's seating.
Inside is cozy; all raw wood and retro light bulbs.
This place is small, which I don't see as a negative, but it does mean you need to book ahead or get in a takeaway pre-order lest you be disappointed.
Service was attentive and friendly, with the front of the house giving us a quick overview of the set-up and the specials. Drinks and all courses arrived well timed.
The restaurant's proximity to the beach in a tourist town must mean they get a high turnover of customers during the summer, but it still have a very neighbourhood place vibe to it. We dined with our 3 year old son and they were very accommodating.
We are in the area to visit family on a regular basis, but this is our first visit and it won't...
