I booked the upstairs function room for a baby shower and was really impressed. We had the £14 per person buffet (with additional £2 tea and coffee) and the food was great, especially the cheese boards and deserts. There was actually too much for us as we had a whole separate buffet for the three gluten free guests, and all ended up taking leftovers home! The staff were helpful and attentive, providing cake stands, napkins, water jugs etc as required, even when it was super busy downstairs due to freshers week. The room was spacious with plenty of room for 20 of us (though could’ve fitted many more), had its own separate toilets, and never felt loud or disturbed by the bar customers downstairs. Altogether it was a good price for the event and I would definitely recommend The Didsbury.

Lovely and very friendly staff. The salad I ordered though was disappointing, a few slices of salmon with dry rocket leaves. For a chef's special there is definitely room for improvement

We had booked a table via the website which was very easy, however, when we arrived the place was packed full of people with tables at arms reach from each other. The waitress directed us to our dirty table. The table had bits of food on it and spilt drinks from the people that sat there before us. It was very unsettling as you would think they would stay on top of cleaning and hygiene especially with this pandemic. We went ahead and ordered our food and I wanted the turkey roast in which the waitress told us that they had sold out on all roast dinners and that I should choose something else. I settled for a steak pie with mash and gravy. Around 30 mins our food arrived, the steak pie was awful and the mash they served was a tiny, cold blob. The pie was dry and hard and the smallest bit of gravy they gave you did not help at all. Halfway through eating the manager had seated people at the table next to us and explained that they did not have cauliflower cheese and had all the roasts except one. After hearing that I was gobsmacked as I had settled for this disgusting pie. Clearly there was a miscommunication issue between the kitchen and some members of staff. Overall not a good experience and would...

  • NOT FREE PARKING - BEWARE, STAFF DON'T WARN YOU *

Chose this pub for dinner as it, the surroundings and the food all looked good and it was only a short drive away.

The food was good quality, but small portion sizes for what you pay, sign of the times. The service was friendly and fine, or seemed fine at the time but what they had neglected to mention when we arrived and were shown to our table was that you have to give your car registration plate for free parking or pay to park.

The signage in the car park explaining this is either deliberately small and obscure or it doesn't exist because I didn't see any.

Needless to say, 9 days after the event it became a VERY expensive meal. I'm very disappointed that upon arriving the staff made no mention of having to give the registration to park for free or receive a big fine. There was no mention of it either in the two emails received for the online table booking. Almost as if the business gets a cut of the fine from Euro Car Parks.

The odd seeming one way system in use at the car park now makes sense, it's for the ANPR cameras. Shame you don't have adequate signage or warn your customers.

Is this pub a honey pot for a...

I seen some average comments about the food and service and I am honesty shocked! I took my wife a new born here for her first mother’s day and can honestly say that I was put off on arrival. I booked a table two days in advance and specified I need peak access, they placed us on the second floor! Made up for it by giving us a ticket for free parking. Decorating up stairs is slacking with paper pealing off the wall and fire alarms hanging off, dirty windows etc... it was massively busy so accepting sink clean table and knifes and folks was easy. I should mention down stairs looks fabulous. Well anyway the food! The food was utterly amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am so picky on the food and how it is cooked and I can with defiant confidence say I will eat there again because of that. I had all three meats available and they did not disappoint the beef cooked flawlessly the pork beautifully cooked and so so suculant and the turkey just made me feel like it was Christmas BUT the best thing was the home made gravy 100% love added l some constructive criticism! Address the customers needs on arrival appropriately and sort the decor out up stair the little things...
