The kids absolutely loved this however organisation needs improvement. We arrived at 11.40 on a day that was supposed to open at 10am. We were told to come back later as they were opening at noon. When we came back there were people at the desk filling in forms. We queued 5 mins then a tall guy waved the people behind us in and he gave them pads to fill in. The shorter older guy at the computer finally told the people at the desk to go and sit down to fill in the pads after about 7 mins. ( why not move them when we were waiting) By the time we entered we missed the beginning bit. I asked the older guy where the people were going as it was our first time and we had no idea what the procedure was. He just dismissed me and said nowhere. ( turns out it was to lockers )
Finally the kids went in and I asked the older guy if I could watch them. He said that he would tell me when it started. So I sat down to wait. He never got back to me. Later I saw the taller guy come back and I asked him instead. He told me it had started already and he took me inside. He was very friendly and helpful.
The game itself is brilliant. You run around as pac man does with a vest that accumulates the points for you. One of the kids vest wasn’t working properly so someone came in to change it. However the kids told me and I saw this too sat on the side that the vest does not always sense where you have gone over properly so points are missed. This is a tech issue that they need to sort out. There was a variety of different games and at some point the pac master calls you to sit out. One kid sat out twice and for a 30 odd minute session it seems a bit much.
The kids loved it however it is a short session so we went to the science museum next door after.
Great idea however they need someone with better organisational skills on that computer. A friendly and helpful demeanor would be appreciated too. Most people were new and no one was told what to do. They just shove the pad at you and ask you...
Read moreThe actual game was brilliant fun so I highly recommend it! Be prepared to run about and get a bit sweaty, so bring water, good shoes and cool clothing. Unfortunately the staff felt a little disorganised. We booked and still had about a half hour wait, not having much of a clue what was going on. They called out a team name but we weren't told we had one. We heard them mention lockers and then said "follow me" but they forgot to take us to the lockers, so we had to go back. After being told we were team A we were then told we were team B. I just think a bit more communication from the staff on arrival would have been good so we knew what the general deal was, as most people won't have been before and won't know what to do or what to expect. Info for others: You arrive and check in. Scan the QR code and sign the disclaimer and then wait to be called. Make sure you put bags in lockers first but you can take water and phones into the game with you. You have a vest on that lights up. You input your name on to a tablet. That connects to your vest so it logs your score. You are all basically PAC-MAN running around. You play a mix of games. You can sit on the side when you sit out, which everyone does at some point. The game master person was excellent! All in all, check it out. It's a laugh for all ages. Our 8 year old got a little freaked out by being chased by the ghosts, but I'm sure other young kids...
Read moreThis experience wasn’t the best it was all down to the parking outside the building was restricted as the council changed everything on the road directly by the entrance doors, so that left me to go and find the nearest car park as I went and found the nearest car park. I then used a recommended branded map Google Maps and placed the Pacman live experience address into it it done nothing but take me to 7 dead ends and most alleyways and entrances to get to this building were blocked off as the council were doing major road constructions, one of my friends previously come to Manchester and had no issue with parking, sadly I travelled all the way from Coventry two hours and 10 minute drive and then a £29 car parking fee which I found was disgusting, as I got to the Pacman live experience building we was late for the experience I did arrive outside the building on time but sadly the parking that I thought I could use was no longer available. There was there wasn’t any updated on the Instagram account or any social media platforms so let me know that there was no parking so please be aware and check for road closures and parking, so then sadly I had to get back in the car and drive all the way back to Coventry with two children in the car extremely disappointed as this was a big treat for them and they couldn’t...
