Wish I was getting paid for this review but (fortunately for everyone reading) I'm not! :)
Food was incredibly good, ordered both chicken and kofta tagines, amazing taste and both served piping hot! Everything was delicious and presentation was also top class, for every single dish served. All had its own flavour and taste, even the salad was wonderful to eat. Definitely recommend the falafel starters, tasted perfecly fresh and not too dry. The half-chicken was very tender and super easy to eat, as well as the chicken tagine. If I had to recommend only one dish, (I would suggest the entire menu) I'd choose kofta tagine and rice. Super fresh tasting ingredients and very light and easy to eat, not heavy on the stomach. Starters came out around 10-12 minutes after ordering (restaurant wasn't busy), and mains came out pretty soon after. Wonderful service and everything was fast and deliciously hot and tasty.
Definitely will find any excuse to return to Plymouth to eat here again, and will be bringing more friends to try food here. Compliments...
Read moreWhile eating my kebab and rice, I found two eyelashes underneath the kebab. I informed the staff member, but instead of apologising he dismissively took it to the kitchen and claimed it must have come from outside, saying this “never happens here.” I didn’t take a picture because I didn’t think the staff would respond the way they did.
I did not finish the meal. At the end, I explained again that the eyelashes were under the kebab itself. He repeated that it had never happened before, then handed me £10 and told me not to come back. I took £11 (the cost of the meal).
The way the situation was handled was dismissive and disrespectful. If you read through the other negative reviews, you’ll notice a pattern in who gets treated this way which makes my experience feel far from coincidental. I have also reported the incident to Plymouth Council.
Apart from leaving this review, I have also made a complaint to the Plymouth council. Hopefully this should serve as a deterrent to other future...
Read moreI was quite disappointed with my visit. The food was mediocre and really lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper. Even the salad had no salt at all. The chicken we ordered was especially underwhelming — it was dry inside, and despite asking for grilled chicken, what we received was simply cooked, not grilled.
The guava juice was another let-down. It wasn’t fresh; it came straight from a box with ice added. Paying £2.50 for boxed juice didn’t feel worth it. 😭
The warq 3anab (stuffed vine leaves) were honestly the star of the dinner — they were the only dish that stood out. On the other hand, the meat and chicken samosas had potatoes mixed in, which really didn’t make sense and took away from the flavor.
The sheesha was good and smooth, but the coals burned out quickly, so we had to keep adjusting or adding more, which became inconvenient.
Overall, the experience was quite disappointing — with bland food, poor value on drinks, and only a couple of items...
