Lifts break down and trap people inside regularly and all of their associated equipment, systems and procedures are faulty. This has happened to me once, but apparently happens generally at least once a month. In addition: - Faulty lift intercom so you cannot hear people at the other end. Faulty cameras so they don’t know which lift you are in. Do not answer their general telephone line number when ringing from trapped inside a lift on a Saturday. Try to blame jumping children when no children got out of the lift before we entered, and the 1 x nine year old child with the 4 adults in the trapped lift categorically did not jump. There was apparently a not faulty camera, (which is why when I did get hold of someone on a different telephone number, they were unable to locate us that way), and no staff in the immediate facility, so where has this information come from? If true, about kids some how jumping before we entered, which I strongly doubt / it feels like an excuse, lifts regularly maintained and serviced and parts changed regularly to UK modern safety standards do malfunction regularly in this way, they have tolerance. Legally, and it is the Oracle’s legal duty. Their electronic panels do not go dead, their floor and door opening buttons do not cease to function. Staff believe it is normal ‘part of the game’ to call out the fire service for these incidents, rather then carrying out adequate servicing and maintenance. It is not normal. After being released by the fire service staff promised that we would not be charged for car parking, only to find: - Their third party operator tried to charge me anyway, and is now sending emails about my account ‘debt’ Their third party operator has no contact detail for them on their website (only the Oracle), no email address, no disburse button. Oracle staff are not permitted to give out any contact details for the third party operator despite numerous emails and telephone calls. Oracle Staff answering the telephone have no power to deal with car parking disputes and no power to put you through to Managers. When emailing the Oracle that they recommend paying the third party operator, wanting to break their promise that I would not be charged for car parking because I was stuck in a lift car park. The most accountability they are prepared to take is an ‘apology for any hurt feelings’ believe that is an adequate response, as I am still dealing with threatening debt collection emails sent by third party ‘Skidata’ from a no reply...

Read moreReading’s Main Mall - a community center for the area This is a unique place for a lot of different reasons. It is in the heart of Reading and serves as a main community center for the area. The south side of it opens onto an area with at least 2-foot bridges over the River Kennet. On the north side you are in the heart of Broad Street, the brick-lined walking space that seems a Hallmark of the city. Inside, the mall boasts a wide selection of high-street brands, boutiques, and specialty stores, making it a shopaholic's paradise. As of September 2021, they hosted over 80 stores and restaurants. I visited recently one of their big anchor stores that was closing. It offers a plethora of dining options, from international cuisine to local delicacies. The Riverside dining area is particularly popular, providing a scenic backdrop for a meal. Their website seems to suggest that they host various events and activities throughout the year, keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging. I tried the McDonalds. It was extremely busy but it was also right off the riverside dining area and accessed from outside the main structure. Whether you're looking for a day of retail therapy, a delicious meal with a view, or a fun outing with friends and family, The Oracle shopping center in Reading offers it all. It's a vibrant hub that epitomizes modern urban living and leisure. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the mall, you have the option of looking right outside along Broad...
