Zizzi used to be one of my favourite place to go n eat. Nice restaurant, good food and nice view by the river. However, last night experience was putting us off ,can't believe we have been asked for a tip as well after all. We ask for a table for 2, restaurant almost empty, they giving us a table next to 2 other loud people ,and the table was right next to each other (from all this big area ) we ask if we can move towards the door and the guy tells us it is very cold there because of the draft coming through the doors. Instead of giving us a table for 4 people which was on the heater area and I repet the restaurant was almost empty (3-4 people inside )to look after the customers, they sending us there . Obviously had to eat with my coat on, and it was so cold. I was hungry and i couldn't be bothered to go find another place . I was eating in this cold .While I decide what to eat we are being told we should've have 50% off of the mains but the sistem "doesn't work" from the office so they can't give us this . I was like it isn't the customer fault is it ? Change us less then. We can't he said , that's why we are letting you know now so you decide if you want to proceed. Like if u don't like it basically you can go. Shocking đ” .Excuse me but if you have an offer, the customer comes expecting that and you don't help in any way all you tell them is: u better pay the full price or go we don't care, nothing we can do. We ordered the food which was quick to arrive like I said 3 people in the restaurant wasn't that difficult, anyways food was excellent. While I talk to my partner and I'm eating we have been bothered so many times asling us how is everything. If I need smth , I'll ask you don't need to disturb me all the time .No offence but all I need and want is peace. Leave me alone to eat my food. They brought us some complementary pastas 3-5 pastas in a bowl. I remember the time you used to offer half of the paper bag with this.And pizzas used to be normal price, not 20ÂŁ/ pizza like now and you still offered us more. Now, you can't afford anymore seems like . My partner needs to wash his hands before we go and he comes back freezing from upstairs saying he regrets he went there . It was freezing đ„¶, the water to wash his hands the same and he was so cold after eating in the cold anyway . Zizzi, I've been eating in this place for years , never had such a bad experience, and on top of it when I was to pay the full amount obviously because it is my fault your system doesn't work is it? , they asking me to tip them. For what? What do you mean tip ? Said no obviously, the girl was in shock like she couldn't believe it. Never been to Zizzi before usually a Pizza Express person.
When ordering, we were told that no pizzas were available, so we ordered starters and continued with our evening. While eating, we started noticing pizzas being served to other tables. When we asked about this, we were told those pizzas had been pre-ordered â which we accepted.
Later, when it came time to order our mains, we double-checked whether pizzas were now available and were again told the entire pizza menu was unavailable. So, we went ahead and ordered pasta dishes instead.
However, shortly after â and 40 minutes after ordering our mains â we saw more pizzas being served. We asked a different server, who told us that pizzas had actually been available for an hour. This means that by the time we ordered our mains, pizzas were available, yet we were told otherwise.
To make matters worse, the server responded with flippant comments and no apology. New arrivals were being told that pizzas were available, while existing customers (us included) were left out of the loop.
Wonât ever go to Zizziâs again.

   Read moreFirst time we had been to a Zizzi. We had a pleasant experience there and the food was really good. Especially my spicy wild boar Rigatoni dish, would come back just for that alone. The prices are quite reasonable as well. Seating location was a bit meh as we were right in the corridor upstairs and felt in in way of staff. The staff were lovely and were really positive despite their situation they had to deal with. That situation was that unfortunately they had no WiFi(maybe due to the big storm that happened the day before)so it was unlikely to be able to take car payments so you paid either cash or through their app. Unfortunately the app was having problems too so we paid with cash, however we were informed though they could take cash but they couldn't give change. Bit odd as most businesses take cash now so even if you are encouraging card payments, you should still have cash on standby. So in the end I made it so the change I was supposed to receive was a tip to the waiters who had to deal with it, as I don't blame them for the situation.
