We had a great time at Largs Museum. Guides were so welcoming and friendly, the exhibits are very interesting and give a great overview of the historic people and places of Largs & District. If you get the chance, definitely take them up on the tour of the Skelmorlie Aisle. Our guide was a font of knowledge and it was great to hear the backstory and interpretations of the beautiful 17th century painted ceiling and ornamental tomb. We also heard some remarkable stories of who has been buried in the graveyard, from Brisbane to local domestic servants and schoolteachers. Read moreOne thing to take note of when visiting the museum is that volunteers can take you inside the Skelmorlie aisle as they have keys to the cemetery. The cemetery itself is quite unique and when inside the Skelmorlie aisle there's a painted ceiling and sculptures worth seeing.

Read moreFound this by accident today. The Musuem is beautiful and full of history. The children really enjoyed this. And it's FREE! But they run off donations. My youngest played the quiz game whilst I read the history. Run by wonderful and very friendly volunteers. One took us into the church and wow, speechless. Stunning little church and it's history.
