Pound's Park — Attraction in Sheffield

I have been a few times before and thought it was an excellent addition to the city centre. It could be improved with some extra facilities for the younger children and the focus around water play is nice but not practical for half the year.

I went today and was extremely disappointed. There is evidence all over of IV drug use. There were wrappers of syringes, caps from needles, used syringes (no needles attached), alcohol wipes, and used glass ampules of water for injection. I wonder if the council has been doing some tidying as there were no used syringes however it is not enough.

Parents I suggest if you are going with your children to do a once over before you let them play. Especially up the larger of the two towers/ pyramids. There was spit, vomit and glass up there today as well as some drugs and drug wrappers. There was also a broken needle.

Parents check where your children will be playing. If the council sees this they need to do better. There are cameras and lights all over so how are they not aware what is...

SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITY

Large amount of space taken up by musical steps and climbing rock. No swings. No roundabout. Nothing for smaller children. A seesaw that requires to adults to make it work (designed to pump water rather than play on). Whole park has heavy water play focus - doesn't have all year round appeal. Water play beside sandpit. Not great if trying to combine a park visit with a shopping trip.

Some nice ideas, slides are good. All well built but clearly not designed by, or with consultation of, parents of children

I was really excited at the prospect of a Childrens playground in the city centre. Although the park looks great I have given reduced stars as it does not have equipment suitable for a wide age range and abilities. My toddler requested to leave shortly after arrival as he walked round and realised there was nothing that he could actually reach and play on.

The adventure climbing frames and slide are only accessible for older able children.

It would have been nice to include a smaller set for the younger ones.

I understand there is outstanding work for the park but I believe this for the water features rather than any additional...
