Can only rate on the service we got at the desk, and that was poor. My 4yo was feeling ill and we were heading to the train station home. Unfortunately he was sick in the atrium to the interchange, right outside Rock up. I asked the lady at the front desk if she could call someone or had a slip hazard sign I could put up so no-one fell. Was told they weren't part of meadowhall and it was nothing to do with them. Had to double back to the loos, grab a sign myself and nab some of the cleaners. They were surprised by the "nothing to do with them" as there's a process in place for this sort of thing. As for the venue, we looked to go a few weeks back and it seems very expensive compared to dedicated climbing venues (which have more variety) so gave it a miss. Setup looks OK on passing and people are belayed properly. Needless to say after the experience with the front desk staff, won't be using them. There are some good venues in Sheffield such as awesome walls and the works, if you're looking to have a go at climbing and don't need to make it part of a meadowhell trip, could be cheaper to try one of the...
Read moreNot that impressed with this facility. Booked online as a rainy day family activity for us and the kids to do together. When we arrived we realised it was a really small section in the middle of a shopping centre. Not a large warehouse-like facility as is implied by the pictures on the website. It was not suitable for adults to climb. We asked at the desk to get the money back for the adult climbers and just let the kids go in. We were told no as it had to be cancelled 48hrs before. (Although we'd only booked 1hr earlier online!) Kids went in and had a good time so no complaints about that. It was packed and they could have easily filled our slots in a second, so just feel it's very money grabbing to refuse a partial refund. Believe me, we need that £21 more...
Read moreFab activity for kids.
Plenty of variety in difficulties of climbing walls. Something for everyone. The walls are designed to look quirky and cool way making them approachable for all kids and not daunting.
A good number of kids on at the same time which allowed everyone to get a go on the different walls
Shout out to Maria who was fantastic in supporting one of the young people who had frozen at the top of one of the walls. Situation could have got out of hand easily with other kids queuing up and other factors however Maria kept the young person engaged with her plenty of positive support and encouragement keeping the situation calm and then decided swiftly to support the young person further by climbing up and escorting them...
