Spices — Restaurant in England

We have used spices for many years now mostly the food has been nice. We got a takeaway on Thursday night 21/3/24, the popadoms were soft the salad was the smallest I’ve ever seen and brown and this was part of my main meal of a tandoori chicken on the bone which was pretty much raw as you can see on the photos. I phoned to make them aware of this and to come back and they would cook me another, we live 6 miles away so it would have been another 12 miles round trip for us having already picked up our meal. However he took my number and address and said he would reimburse me and drop the money off to me on Friday. This is now Tuesday the 26th and still nothing, not even a phone call.

Visited Spices for the first time yesterday evening, despite having lived in saltburn for many years. A lovely welcome environment, a calm space great to catch up with a friend over food.

The service was very kind, welcoming and non-intrusive. The portions were also great, I had some food left and was kindly offered a "take out" box without requesting myself! Really respect this as other establishments occasionally make this option less visible / awkward to request - perfect in a world were we are more aware of food waste.

What a place - me and my partner are here last night and it was amazing. We were immediately welcomed at the door and the waiters were so friendly. Food arrived very quickly and tasted great. We did order too much, so they put it in takeaway boxes for us. They asked why we didn't eat much of the other dips with our poppadoms and we explained that we are really big fans of mango chutney. With the takeout, they gave us a more! Its the little things that go the long way and this place has them. (mint in drinks, ensuring our food was ok) If we're on holiday in saltburn again, definitely would...
