Enjoyed a pleasant stroll along Smeaton's Pier to the lighthouse. There are actually two of them: the small squat lighthouse halfway along the pier, built in 1830, and the taller one that replaced it when the pier was extended in the 1890's, and which still guides boats into the harbour. There are great views from here of St Ives and its beautiful coastal scenery. Smeaton's Pier is still a working pier, and it was interesting to stroll past the piles of crab and lobster pots, and view the fishing boats in the harbour. There are toilets and limited car parking spaces on the pier.

It’s a smaller lighthouse compared to others. Located on the edge of the harbor, it provides stunning views of the surrounding sea and coastline, especially on a clear day. The walk to the lighthouse is pleasant, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ocean breeze and watch the boats in the harbour.

St Ives is a beautiful place to relax with plenty to do and see. A definite place to come along, especially in the summer when it's hot, can feel like you are abroad.
