We often have get-togethers at this pub where we invite friends to join us for drinks, and sometimes we order a buffet for them. It's a super spot to sit outside and the service is usually good. NOT SO LAST NIGHT! Our group of about 15 moved inside after it became a bit cool outside and took up space in the now closed restaurant area. We were continuing to have a lovely time until the manager told us that a dog that was with one of our group was not allowed in this area. Upon query I was told that it was because it's the restaurant area. But they had closed the kitchen at 9. It was now about 10.30 and there we no diners left. This area of the pub is basically a walk through for the garden and toilets. Not exactly a dedicated eating area. Whilst it was slightly ridiculous this was not the issue. It was the rudeness and aggression from the female manager that was quite shocking. We were well behaved - unlike a roudy bunch in the area she was asking us to move to. And we were spending well all evening on all sorts including several bottles of Prosecco. It was my wife's birthday. I explained that we were all locals and used the pub for many years. The dog is elderly and very docile and clean. She didn't care. She actually told me off for questioning her policy and clapped her hands at me. She seems to be fuming for no apparent reason. Quite why she took this approach puzzled the entire group. Needless to say we left. And shallnt be going back until there's a change of management or a profuse apology which given her demeanour I am certainly not expecting! It almost spoiled our evening. Luckily we are a robust bunch and there are plenty of other pubs in Warwick for us to convene with friends where we won't be attacked and disrespected by the 'management'. The only reason I have given it 2 stars rather than 1 is because other than this witch of a manager - who is probably (hopefully) not going to be there long - it...
Read moreVisited a couple of times, sadly last night will be the last.
Whilst the country is still feeling concerned during Covid Pandemic- I would have expected the management and staff to be slightly more adapted to new measures which agreed, are only guidelines, but warming to customers if followed.
No track n trace details, lack of clear directions and virtually no sanitation. When asking about toilets, told both gents and ladies were out of use, so they had unlocked guest rooms upstairs for people to use.
My partner needed to visit, she went into the room as advised, to find one man in the toilet with the door open, then another one entered the bedroom behind her. She decided to leave the room in panic and come back downstairs to our table as she felt extremely anxious and scared.
Having approached a female member of staff and advising her of the situation, she became extremely rude and defensive saying it was not her fault?
Neither of the rooms were lockable, absolutely no sanitation requirements, no hand wash, paper towels or antibacterial wipes. This coupled with no signage, creating a free for all is totally unacceptable for an establishment this size.
As per licensing requirement, an establishment with capacity of 50 or more, there should be a minimum of two toilets for females, and males should have one toilet and urinal. This is minimum requirement- “MINIMUM!!”
No door signage was a recipe for concern, a piece of paper with ladies or gents written on it would have been a start.
Food was average.
I have today contacted both EHO and Warwick County Council, lets hope they can give them a stern reminder what licensing laws are AND advise them to reconsider opening the doors should they not be able to fulfil these requirements.
I for one will...
Read moreWhat should have been a celebratory weekend for my Moms 50th turned up to be a disaster on Titled wigs part! I booked the Tilted Wig for an over stay with breakfast under the impression there was parking on site for my Mom who is has an health condition for ease and comfort. The parking is at the rear of the property. Upon arrival they advised there was no parking available due to them setting up gazebos in there parking bays to accommodate the England fans instead, and that the nearest free parking would be a 2 minute walk. We arrived at the parking which may I add was not secure, to a 5-6 min walk to the accommodation. Upon arrival there was no friendly, accommodating welcome like you would expect. I asked to speak to the manager about this to be rudely spoken over, telling me I was never told there was parking available! It’s clearly advertised as 4 parking bays for the 4 hotel rooms, to which I had booked 2 rooms. I had even called up the night before to ensure they could accommodate the parking due to this! ||Having showed him the call in my call log, from me double checking there was parking for my mom, he didn’t even apologise. Having asked the manager what he was going to do to put this right, he rudely advised he was going to do nothing! At the point I then advised him that I would be in contact with booking.com, he advised me to leave and not come back! Without even allowing me to speak he stormed off, leaving 3 women without accommodation due to their poor customer service! There are so many more lovely places to stay in Warwick, however it was all fully booked due to multiple gigs! I do not recommend, Staff are rude, and have no customer service in...
