This used to be a really good place to eat with excellent service. Sadly it has declined massively, so much so that I won't be going back and don't recommend it to anyone. Ordered the BBQ chicken burger and Caledonian burger with haggis. They forgot half the order for the bbq burger, namely the BBQ sauce (?!) and onion rings. What did arrive was lukewarm. The chicken was the hardest chicken I have ever eaten, had to leave half of it as it was inedible. Literally was like a piece of wood and that is no understatement. Waited for 10 minutes at the bar to be completely ignored by the incredibly miserable bar staff to try and order some tap water. They seem to have got rid of the water dispenser, which if it is for covid safety reasons is ironic as there is no covid safety screens anywhere, nobody was wearing masks, not even the staff and the tables may as well be joined up as they are that close together. When the food arrived, I asked for 2 waters, to which the waiter gave me a look of death and never returned with any waters but instead went behind the bar to serve other people. Because of this, I had to find another lady who was waiting tables to ask for water and the rest of the order. (She was actually very helpful and I feel sorry for her having to work with such useless miserable other staff). The Caledonian burger was full of gristle, very thin, the haggis was bland and the whiskey sauce tasted like it had been watered down. To complete the disaster, the chips tasted very old and were mushy. We ended up leaving 60 percent of the food as it was so bad. This is something I have never done before ever, so gives you an idea of how terrible the food was. If you want to get drunk and rowdy, this is the place for you as they will happily take the money off you. If you want it to be perhaps a family oriented place to eat do NOT go here. In summary, the service is terrible, the food is terrible, the atmosphere is terrible. I cannot think of any positive reason to go here, other than cheap alcohol which you can get from the...
Read moreMyself and my husband visited this place late on Tuesday afternoon and was extremely concerned about the cleanliness of the place especially as there should be restrictions concerning COVID 19 , it was busy outside as it was a nice day we managed to get a table as people were just leaving we sat down and I was expecting the staff member to come and clean the table how wrong was I the girl didn’t even come to lift away the empty glasses from the previous people for about a good half hour still didn’t wipe our table so I thought maybe she just thought we had been here for a while and it had already been done but no sat and watched other tables leave and the girl just lifted away the empty glasses didn’t once wipe any table don’t know why as she had her spray bottle in her apron at the front . Also there were 2 groups of tables clearly more than 6 people at each one . Won’t be returning any time soon as this is a basic measure put in place for our safety and yous can’t even get your staff to...
Read moreLocated in the picturesque square in Warwick, this Weatherspoons has a peaceful and traditional atmosphere. The interior is typical in design to other Weatherspoons (lots of wood panels, large bar and mirrors etc). This location was frequented for lunch by a colleague and I due to its location to offices and prices.
The food menu contains the standard range of dishes provided by British pubs - burgers, curry, fish & chips, pies, pizza etc and at prices that seem incredibly cheap; a pizza, burger and two drinks cost less than £15. What arrived was a large enough portion to be considered a full meal (i.e. not a smaller portion lunch deal) and tasted nice enough. The chicken burger and fries and cooked well while the BBQ chicken pizza tasted nice if a little heavy on the sauce.
Weatherspoons are very much the dining equivalent of Premier Inn - familiar food at prices that you're happy to pay. This locale meets that description but location makes it nicer than some others...
