Warwick Castle Stratford Road Car Park — Attraction in Warwick

My father was in the United States Air Force and we were stationed at Upper Heyford AFB from 1972-1976 and I was 6 yrs old when we moved there from the USA. I remember at some point visiting Warwick Castle either with my family or on a field trip and believe it or not I remember my visit there because of the spiral stairs, 530 steps to be exact, to reach the top of the castle and the beautiful view of the grounds. I would encourage anyone who has a chance wether you are visiting England, the town of Warwick, to go and see this historical castle. We ended up moving to another base in England, Bentwaters AFB and lived there until 1979 I feel very blessed to have lived in such a beautiful country at such a young age and having a mother who was from Ipswich made it more enjoyable...

Firstly this is less a castle more a stately home now transforming into a holiday resort. The castle has the original fortifications which are a joy to walk around. However, the steps are steep and cramped. The inner building is more a stately home, be nonetheless are pleasant to visit. I recommend waiting for a tour to properly appreciate the narrative of the rooms. We actually took in the castle in the second half of the day after watching the jousting show (my teenage son enjoyed it more than me) and the falconry show (which I really loved). The car park is about 15 minutes' walk away from the castle with a fee which is fine as the castle is protected from traffic. Accommodation is available on site but I found one...

Hi been to Warwick castle today must say really good day, only thing is car park is small must get there early but did find there overflow CAR park go around the one way system on leaving main car park when you get to the main road turn left about 100yards on left is the car park entrance and at only £6.00 it is £4.00 cheaper than the other one BUT MUST SAY IT IS A BIT OF A HIKE TO THE CASTLE AROUND 15/20 MINUTE WALK WOULD NOT RECOMEND FOR THE YOUNGER ONES AS THEY COULD BE KNACKERED BEFORE YOUR DAY STARTS AND WE ALL NO WHAT TIERD RATTY YOUNG ONES CAN BE LIKE BUT APPART FROM THAT HAD A BRILLIANT DAY TAKE YOUR HIKING BOOTS FOR A LONG WALK AROUND THE RAMPARTS AND LOTS AND...
