Said to be the oldest building in Wolverhampton, St Peter's Collegiate Church is on the site of an medieval monastery but itself was largely built in the 14th and 15th centuries. The red sandstone building is a clear example of the Decorated style, particularly ornate and impressive. Inside the church, the nave has a very high ceiling with highly decorated roof timbers. We walked in and there was a darker feel to the place. Oftentimes when it comes to church the stained windows are the highlight for how bright and vivid they look.
