I went yesterday and it was back to normal after the lockdown measures were in place. Obviously it still had hand sanitiser by the door and signs telling you to keep a 2 meter distance. The museum is very interesting to look at but the only thing was one of the buttons that you press in the victorian kitchen wasn't working but I did mention that to one of the members of staff yesterday. They are doing a Halloween event this year about the black plauge which I would like to go to as it sounds interesting especially considering I have come here for years.

Excellent visit to the Almonry museum in Evesham with a first class guided tour from Alex. So many fascinating artefacts from the history of the local area, archaeology, geology and social history. The man trap was quite gruesome! Alex gave us a fab historical explanation of the battle of Evesham and the demise of Simon De Montfort that was worthy of a round of applause. Oh and we enjoyed trying on the armour!

It seems that most free to enter museums are amongst the most interesting. a bit small and cluttered but really interesting museum, the undercroft cells still look spooky. there's two floors to it , you could do it in 15 minutes or spend an hour looking at detail...worth a look...especially as the rest of Evesham appears to be on it's backside! N.B. Parking in Evesham now almost impossible!

An excellent museum, featuring a large and important collection of artifacts from the great medieval abbey that once stood there. The museum building is itself impressively ancient. Collections of archaeology and military equipment, traditional craftsmanship and artisans' tools. Museum staff were friendly, well informed and helpful. Surviving buildings of the abbey complex include a large and impressive bell tower, equipped in recent times with a full peal of bells, which now ring under computer control. A 35 minute peal of many intricate changes was absolutely delightful to hear from the museum on a sunny morning in...

Unfortunately, the building is currently being restored but that is made up by admission now being FREE. The Almonry is a beautiful museum where you can discover Evesham's fascinating history and learn about different trades in the area (asparagus farming, thatching, etc.). I've been there plenty of times as a kid and love to visit when I return to my hometown. The gift shop has lovely Evesham souvenirs and the staff are very friendly. In fact, after mentioning that my grandad's thatching tools are on display, they let me nip to see them just before closing. Thank you so much! It meant the...

Absolutely great hour or so spent at this lovely place. Free entry then given the option to purchase a little crafts activity for £1 which we chose to do and completed in the main hall at the end. Also did a treasure hunt on the way around which was fun. There was a talk provided by one of staff (think his name was Alex) about knights and weaponry, which was highly informative where the kids (and big kids) could try on the armour! Very well kept place with some nice exhibits. Left a donation at the end, as it being free entry for such great service didnt feel quite right!...
