Visited the trumpet on a Tuesday evening.for a few pints of the hooky gold ale. thought it was excellent quality.a quick decision was made to stay a little longer than planned.as there was Liverpool v Barcelona game on the TV screen.so we ordered homemade steak and Guinness pie. at just 5 pounds .it was excellent value and we could not fault. it has a beer garden and front of pub seating .the pub is set back a little . but just yards from the merstow green car park and the new waitrose.the staff are also very friendly helpful and switched on.its spotlessly clean and I noticed they do Sunday lunch.will be back to try .for sure. a...

The loyalty of the 'regulars' not only provides a great atmosphere, but provides testimony to why this is such a popular venue.

Good, solid standards are 'the norm' and there's no pretentious frills and fancy, but that is what provides the charm and character.

This pub caters for its regulars really well, and because they are catered for so well, they have no issues with all of the 'non-regulars' sharing in their 'World'. A win-win situation.

Just moved to the area, decided to book for Sunday lunch. Shown to a table in front of an open window. My mother being susceptible to drafts, moved to another table. Then we were told that table was specifically requested and we should move back. I explained the situation but was patronisingly rebuffed rather rudely by the manager.
