This is a nice quiet little sanctuary and I think it's that way because not many know about it...outside are the woods, a bird observatory, a pond, two screech owls and a friendly turkey vulture in wire enclosures. Inside are several rooms with all manner of reptiles, snakes, bugs, a blind possum, a rabbit, domestic rats, a chinchilla, a bearded dragon, and a turtle dove. They also have some children's books and a little table for little ones to have quiet time. The volunteers are always welcoming and they have a box for voluntary donations. The birds you can see here are turtle doves, cardinals, blue jays, yellow finches and sparrows. You see them from inside a wooden building out a window and they are a delight to the eyes! Plus in their ponds they have fish, frogs and turtles. Bring lunch and a book! Bring your kids! What a wonderful way to enjoy Our...

We gave our son's 11th birthday party here on the weekend. The kids had such a blast. We are so glad that we chose this place. This place has a small museum, bird observatory and a trail for pond and then live animal encounter. So much to do for just 1 hour, perfect entertainment for the kids. Group always stayed and interacted together which made the party even more fun. Even adults got engaged. The staff is so passionate about nature. The director is working there for 20 years. After the party got over kids did not want to leave , they went back again on the trail as a group. We were not expecting the boys to have so much fun, but they enjoyed as much as girls did. Many thanks to the staff for giving us such a...

I took my son here for magic mornings and he wasn’t really excited about it because of the amount of other kids. My son is on the spectrum so I was taking a chance going but we went downstairs and he really enjoyed everything else they had to offer. I ended up speaking with Heidi who ran Magic mornings and she was more than caring. She was extremely helpful and gave us some tips for next time and even let my son do some of the activities they did on his own. She really made me feel so much better about the situation. So if you have a child on the spectrum just mention it to them and I’m sure they will help accommodate your child the best they can. Highly...

Animal enclosures are wrong. The girl running the animal section, Katie, is rude, unprofessional and doesn't want to hear about how to help improve the animal enclosures for the animals health and safety. Just a horrible place. Turtle tank is filthy and yellow and the poor thing looks miserable. She's getting rid of the turtle....but is looking for free animals in turn. Maybe she should keep the turtle and explain why these turtles are NOT good pets and why they are a lifelong commitment! Rest of the place seems nice and a great opportunity to learn about and explore the great outdoors. 👍

It was our very 1st trip here. It was a gorgeous day. The lady who volunteers there was with her son and they were feeding owls & the red hawk too. We got to see them eat their lunch outdoor in their pens. Then, we saw the animals inside too. We saw a skunk, dwarf rabbit, box turtles, a fresh water turtle too, masagargar hissing cockroaches, and various other animals too. It was such a nice place to visit.. We will go back again to visit. Please see attached pics.. Great staff too..

Small trail nestled within suburbia. I didn’t see a lot of wild life besides squirrels and the red hawk and screech owls they have in an outside aviary. I couldn’t go inside the main building with the animals; understandable because I had a pet with me (small bird I keep in a a carrier). But it was a nice day and made for a pleasant, safe stroll. The trails are right behind a railroad track which I thought was pretty neat.
