Hitchcock Woods Foundation — Attraction in Aiken County

Nice mixed usage trails with many different routes. On this visit it was entirely runners and walkers, saw one group of equestrian riders as I was leaving. Most trails are plenty wide but there are a couple spots where if a horse came through, from the other direction, it could be a problem. Lots of hills and sand, much of which was soft. This was a very large natural wooded area just outside of downtown Aiken, and a very nice place to walk, although not as scenic as Hopeland Gardens. The downside is that we wouldn't have known about it if a salesperson in a shop downtown had not mentioned it. When my friend and tried to find it, it wasn't easily found because it wasn't marked...

Great place to get lost in and enjoy the Flora and fauna. Whether it's a walk with the family or the pup... Always enjoyable. Always enjoy seeing the pups go down into the Sand River wrapping up some water laying down in the stream...
