UPDATE: these ppl will sell their customers' souls for a dollar.
literally.
one day the husband-owner told me that he just started selling goat meat. he was SUPER excited about the goat meat. he would not stop bragging about the goat meat. he said, "i have goat meat now! no one else has goat meat! not even safeway has goat meat!"
i told him i'm veg - hoping he would shut up about it.
no such luck - husband-owner's rapid rambling immediately continued: "you can tell your friends and family that i have goat meat! very good price, too!"
OK HOLD ON.
if i HELP someone get meat (like i cook it for them or bring it to them), then i DEFINITELY take on some of the karmic responsibility for that animal's suffering and death.
WHAT INDIAN DOES NOT KNOW THIS??
the store has HINDU paraphernalia for sale, so they DEF are familiar with the MOST BASIC tenets of hindu metaphysics.
NONETHELESS, husband-owner was actively push-push-pushing me to help OTHER PPL eat meat by his literally arguing with me that being veg is NO REASON to not use my personal time to let everyone i encounter know that CHEAP GOAT MEAT is now available.
wtaf.
also, the wife-owner is veg but she cooks the hot food, which includes non-veg, so he's also actively pushing her off a cliff into a hellish planet for the sake of a dollar.
wildly offensive. grossly craven. NOT AMUSED.

Read moreThrilled to have a one-stop Indian store in Alameda! I'm so excited to have discovered a comprehensive Indian store in Alameda, conveniently stocked with all the essentials we need.
The store offers an impressive range of food options, including delicious home-style North Indian dishes that remind me of authentic flavors. This has been a lifesaver, especially during our kitchen renovation when cooking at home was a challenge.
Previously, we had to travel to Fremont for small items, but now we can find everything we need right here in our own town! Kudos to the store for catering to the local Indian community's needs and providing a welcoming shopping experience. I'm grateful for the convenience and variety they offer, and I look forward to continued patronage. Only one little suggestion to keep some Indian veggies including curry leaves ,...
Read moreOwner took notice that the beer I like is at the next door store. Offered to supply it. She has a very keen eye on what people buy. Place has a very big beer selection for such a tiny store. Lots of snacks and small grocery items. Everyone working inside has always been friendly and I have gotten delicious samosas and papadums often before thy were a kitchen. Had a lil snack of (I'm sorry, I don't remember what it was called) a fried ball of savory herbs and veggies with two sauces, a minty one and a sour fruit one. It was tasty! Place does not smell as many reviews claimed all at once. Think someone has it out for the owner. It smells like a store with supplies and has a kitchen. Nice location and easy to find. I enjoy stopping by to find goods when I visit.
PS, have added only four stars, because I haven't yet tried all...
