A taco craving led me to this highly-rated spot, but the experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
Atmosphere The taqueria offers a clean, quaint setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, you'll find booths and a salsa bar, creating a casual dining atmosphere.
Ordering Experience Ordering is a breeze with options at the counter, via a digital kiosk, or by checking out the wall menu. I opted for the kiosk out of habit, even though there was no line - a bit quirky, I know!
Menu Highlights I went for variety with their street tacos ($3 each): Carne asada Al pastor Chorizo Carnitas
The horchata was a pleasant surprise - not too sweet and refreshing, though it could've used more ice.
Food Quality The tacos were somewhat underwhelming. Despite the decent tortillas and the addition of avocado and red salsa, the meat lacked distinctive flavors. Even with extra salt, it was hard to tell one taco from another.
Value for Money At $3 per taco, the price seems a bit high for the quality offered. I left feeling like I might explore other options next time.
Service On a positive note, the service was friendly and efficient. My order came out in about 7-8 minutes.
Final Verdict While the atmosphere is pleasant and the service is good, the flavors didn't quite meet expectations. For taco enthusiasts seeking more distinctive tastes, this place might not be the top choice, but it's worth a try if you're...
Read moreI've been here a couple times and their food is fine, but most recently we visited (12/18/22) and they have started charging for their salsas.
We bought a burrito and an order of nachos and they wanted to charge us $0.25 for every little container of salsa to take out. I couldn't even grab their jalapenos or radishes to take out because they charge for little plastic container to-go.
I would understand charging for salsa when people want to just take a bunch to take home but it felt insulting to be charged when I already ordered a burrito and just wanted a few salsas to eat with it.
I even asked the cashier if they charge for salsas for those who are dining in and they said YES THEY DO.
Seriously, I'll say it again - it feels like an insult to be charged for salsa especially when we're already buying their actual food. Who buys a burrito and doesn't expect at least a few salsas with it?
I've never seen a mexican place do that and is the reason why I'll never...
Read moreI gave this place a good review a couple years ago. It emphasized the quality of the food, the fact that they use real plates and real silverware. The friendliness and good vibes. The great prices. Unfortunately most of this is not true at this point it seems. The employees I'm sure cannot be blamed for whatever managerial choices have been made around the quality of the food and the fact that everything is disposable. Used to be able to see out the windows now they're just covered with banners so being inside feels dark and stuffy and it's not a big place so there's not really anywhere to go. The nachos had some kind of strange bean sauce on them, they don't count as beans in my opinion and definitely were low quality and weird and not worth the price. I know food prices and rent have gone up so maybe they are struggling to make the business work but I can't see myself going back...
