WOMEN BEWARE! Frank made me and my best friend Extremely uncomfortable. I came with my closest friend to have simple alterations done to the straps of my wedding dress. We had already dropped off my husband's shirt and bought some pants here, and Frank was fine when I was with my husband. When I came back, just me and my friend, he was over the top creepy! Right when we came in he immediately fixated on my friend, he barely paid attention to pinning my straps as he creepily asked my friend if she worked out, where she worked out, what time she was there, what rooms at the gym she was usually in??!!! Just a barrage of questions about her body and intrusive/ stalky questions about her habits at the gym. He went as far as to be so smarmy that he was telling her he could train her. All the while, she was crawling out of her skin, and I was shocked at the complete diversion from the customer service he gave my husband. When we left, my friend was so shaken she was like, " I never want to come here again!, I would never bring anything here to be tailored. I wouldn't feel comfortable being with him alone. " I was so embarrassed that i brought her with me and he acted so inappropriate. I was totally side swiped by the entire ordeal. I had my husband go back today to get my dress so I could take it somewhere else, I dont want my dress done by him. When my husband told Frank's assistant that we wanted a refund for the dress and were going somewhere else, the assistant called Frank and put him on speaker phone to explain why we weren't having him alter my dress. Frank wouldn't even listen! He just kept repeating that he " never makes a customer feel uncomfortable " over and over. Well, Frank, YOU DID MAKE US UNCOMFORTABLE!!! AND YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THAT!! AN APOLOGY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE RIGHT RESPONSE!! I took my dress elsewhere, it's more expensive than Frank. I'm happy to pay more to never have to deal with gross Frank again!! You lost my business and...
Read moreI know that many people speak highly about this place, but I'm not happy with the quality of work that was done on my suit. I inherited a suit that belonged to my late grandfather that my mom had custom made overseas when she was in the military. I wanted it tailored to fit me a little better so I'd have a piece of my grandfather with me. When I went in to try it on after the first round of alterations, the shelves on the suit were cut considerably shorter than what looks good on my body and the pants were still pretty baggy and ill-fitting. I asked if they could be fixed, and I was told no because the pants can't be converted from pleated to flat-front (even though there's videos online to the contrary) and that the sleeve length is the current style and trend.
I finally accepted the suit as is and left with it after the second fitting, still disappointed that the sleeves make the suit look like a hand-me-down. Thankfully there's still some extra fabric on the sleeves, so I'll be taking it elsewhere to have someone do EXACTLY what I want.
The amount that I was charged was pretty ridiculous ($250), and I believe that it may have been due to the quality of the fabric and the label listing the original tailor in Bahrain. Plus I was charged upfront, which I found extremely odd due to no work having been done on it yet. For the amount I paid, I should have gotten what I wanted, so now I'm out of that money AND stuck with a suit I'm not happy with. Won't be using this...
Read moreI contacted Fred at Fine Men's Clothing because I had a pea coat that I wanted altered. I called and was informed that Saturdays are by appointment only, but Fred was kind and made himself available quickly. At the last second, I decided I would get a second sweater altered as well and then was on my way. I arrived at Fine Men's Clothing and was ushered into the fitting room where Fred marked my sleeves for the alterations. It was a quick and mostly painless process. I paid $42 up front to have the sleeves of both garments shortened. About 5 days later (I told him no rush), he called to let me know the garments were ready to be picked up. I wasn't able to leave during work to go by the shop, so we decided he would leave my items at the embroidery shop next door for me to pick up at noon on Saturday. Both garments were waiting for me and I picked them up with no problem. Once I was back home, I excitedly tried on my freshly altered clothing only to recognize the sleeves were different lengths on both pieces of clothing. The sweater is ruined due to the sleeves now being too short and the jacket will need to be altered again to even out the sleeves. The previous reviews on here do not suggest this is common practice, but I for one will not...
