What an unexpected trip!
This particular location (and IHOP in general) has been having issues for a long while and we haven't had a good visit there in years.
Last night, however, it was the only place that was still open at 11:00pm and we decided to give it one more try. We were not expecting much.
Stephanie G and her cook have restored our faith in IHOP. It was as near a perfect visit to a restaurant as we have had in years!
At first we were not very hopeful as they were very frazzled and busy with all the to-go orders because, you know, no one actually dines out anymore. She did warn us that it would be a while before she could serve us. But it wasn't that long and I actually appreciated the time to.look over their new menu..
But once we got going, Her service was amazing with a little bit of Albuquerque flair and character.
My lady and I both felt that the food was the best food we've had at IHOP in years.
When I was younger. I ate at all the IHOPs in Albuquerque multiple times a month and it was always good. Those were the days! But those days have been gone for a very very long time now.
Those days are back!
My fries were perfect. Literally perfect. Crispy on the outside and fluffy and hot inside. My companions waffle was perfectly crunchy too and her bacon was perfectly to her liking and her hash browns were great too.
My burger was almost perfect, a little over cooked, but for an IHOP burger it was amazing. It honestly put Red. Robin, Burger 21 and all those "boutique burger places" to shame for far less money.
Don't let the circle K next door scare you off!
Visit Stephanie G and her amazing cook whose name i didn't get and revisit the glory days of old when IHOP ruled late night dining!
We will be back!
PS: dear owners, give them a raise or a bonus. They were amazing; juggling all the to-go orders and keeping us happy too!
Pps: to people ordering delivery- be understanding if service is a bit slow due to their volume of togos and don't forget to tip these two hardworking people putting out your amazing food...
Read moreI haven’t been to IHOP for years, but my daughter had a gift card so I decided to give it a go. It took a solid 20 minutes to be seated even though at least half of the restaurant was empty. It took at least 10 minutes for a server to even notice we had arrived. I was ready to leave when we were unfortunately led to a table. I counted four servers, two cooks, and some miscellaneous employee dressed in a black cloak with a hood over his head. Sort of like Emperor Palpatine or perhaps a wizard. He appeared to be an employee, but must have used some magic or the force to appear busy without actually doing anything. Some of the employees would have small quarrels behind the counter. The was no sort of manager anywhere to be seen. Anyways, we were able to order fairly quickly. I was disappointed that they apparently don’t have a kids menu. We ordered her a single pancake with eggs and bacon and me a country fried steak. It took roughly 40 minutes for our food to come out. My country fried steak dinner was surprisingly good, and my daughter was pleased with her pancake. Unfortunately, we were told they were still waiting on the bacon and eggs. I asked if we could pay while we were waiting. 20 minutes later the bacon and eggs made it out. 30 minutes later we were out the door. I paid the full price for the four pancake stack when we only received one pancake as I had requested. It would have been nice to have had a kids menu. Our booth seemed to be falling apart and part of it fell into the people behind us as I was leaning back. Overall the food was decent, and our waitress was very nice, which was comforting because I wasn’t sure if we ever going to be able to leave. We left the employees and Emperor Palpatine still confused and arguing about the other...
Read moreMe and my manager went into the establishment after 1 AM. It appeared there was no one working there except the cooks. We waited approximately 15 minutes with another gentleman in the front lobby. It appeared that there was a young woman working as a hostess, who came out of the back and lingered on the side bar of the restaurant, finally Seating us after approximately 30 minutes of waiting in the lobby assuming there were no employees except Cooks. Her manager appeared at the sidebar after 30 minutes as well. We were finally seated in handed menus. The hostess/waitress took the order of the male that was standing next to us and not take our order. She returned 10 to 15 minutes later to take our order after placing waters at our tables. She disappeared again for a few more minutes only to return and say that the computer system was down and we were not going to be served. We were asked to leave while the other guest remained and served. We waited approximately an hour and a half just to be refused service after everyone else had food and orders taken.
As soon as the hostess and manager appeared they disappeared to the back parking lot where they were the majority of our visit.
Do not go to this location. There is a lack of management, customer service, lack of employees, and there seem to be some level of favoritism or discrimination occurring. Used to come to this location because it was one of the best dining experiences we had. The opinion has changed, and now I can see the place has taken a turn for the worst. do not go to this location. Go to Denny’s on San Mateo. You will at least get customer service and food with employees and one of the best managers that works for...
