If you don't want to read all of this, the bottom line is that Mister Car Wash is $5 cheaper for a comparable car wash and is truly unlimited.
I have had the $35 subscription wash that allows one wash per day and used it often. About two weeks ago I pulled into the Montgomery & I-25 location and two employees stepped in front of my car and told me I am no longer allowed to wash my car there because it's a Tesla. They said a Tesla owner complained about something and now they won't wash Tesla's. I asked if a Honda owner complained would they then refuse to wash Hondas? They didn't answer. I got the phone number of the corporate office and left a message asking them to call and explain this to me. 10 days later I hadn't heard so I called again. This time I was told that they had called Tesla and Tesla said that taking a Tesla through a carwash will destroy the underbody of the car and therefore Quick Shine will not allow Tesla's to be washed. Keep in mind that Tesla's have a specific automatic carwash mode built into the car. Why would they do that if washing your car would destroy it? At this point I decided to cancel my subscription and get a refund for the monthly charge 2 days prior (AFTER the visit where they told me I was not allowed to wash my car) and I was told they don't issue refunds! I drove to the Montgomery location where they again stepped in front of my car, but this time said I could wash the car but "it was at my own risk". I asked to cancel and get a refund and they told me I could cancel but they don't give refunds. The Quick Shine subscription is now canceled and I disputed the last charge with my credit card company. Today I went to Mister Carwash and signed up for the equivalent subscription for $5 less and they don't limit you to one wash per day . It's truly unlimited. Update: From Teslarti article dated 08/29/2022 on electric vehicle misconceptions "3.9% (of survey respondents) believe that EVs are so poorly designed that you cannot take them through a car wash". For anyone who may still be mystified whenever they see a Tesla driver come out of a car wash completely unharmed, I can assure you that the insulation of the electronic components means that you are perfectly safe." That would mean that 96.1% of respondents we're smart enough to know better. Quick Shine seems to fall in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: 10/9/2023 - it's been two months and the manager hasn't even attempted to contact me regarding the damage to my vehicle. At this point I am going to have to contact counsel and take legal action.
I suggest avoiding this place lie the plague if you value your vehicle and don't want it damaged. I fully expect them to pay but only when forced to by a court. You'll be hearing from me again very soon.
Original Review: (August 2023) The wheel shine slider at the end of your wash has a yellow metal bar that slammed the corner of my car, denting it and chipping the paint. When I asked to see a manager I was just stonewalled and handed a form to fill out. That said I'd hear something in 5 days. I'm waiting on contact after filing a complaint on paper and cancelling my membership.
There have also been two times where the same lady was working the entrance of the carwash, that she can't seem to operate correctly, has had me reverse on the rails and over the rollers and proceeds to start the machine while my car is still in reverse. This really freaked me out and I'm concerned about future damage.
It was great to have my car washed so close to home but this is intolerable and inexcusable. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Unser and McMahon location is much better.
I only come to this location if I do a wash on my lunch break since its close to my work.
This location never does the powerwash when enter in to get dust off your car. The lights in the car wash do not work. And the signs that tell you whwre you are at are broken.
Also, for some reason I never get my full wash at this location. At Unser and McMahon I get the buff and dry with my membership. For some reason this location never does the buff and dry.
I feel like the wash is not as good at this location. But I can't tell if I am getting the same thing since the signs don't work.
They also switched stickers so now its a big white sticker that has to go on the outside of your car.
Previously they had a clear sticker with a barcode on the inside. Which was way more descrete.
The sticker on the outside comes off easily in the weather and they charge for a...
