I can't give all the details without running out of room, but am willing to especially around safety/being scammed. The reviews around outdated + noisy are true, (especially if you are on the second floor where some of the rooms are cut off by the awning and are right by the front) but it is a cheap room by an airport so it is expected -- there are similarly priced options such as SpringHill Suites Albuquerque University Area which also offers free breakfast, quick trip to airport and while there is no shuttle it costs roughly the same via Uber as a tip to the shuttle driver. With that said don't stay here because of safety reasons. I was charged an unknown fee. I truly believe they tried to scam be but I caught on. The reason I believe this is the morning agent couldn't tell me what the fee was, but said it was probably taxes (she should know + when I brought up that it didn't make sense & wouldn't be a whole even number and said I felt I was getting scammed she agreed with me) and the Assistant Manager who I was told wouldn't be in before I checked out quickly identified it as a room charge, but couldn't tell me why I was charged it + was hesitant to give me anything saying I would be refunded. He kept saying it was a miscommunication, when that wasn't true, everyone was very clear. Their employee called me at midnight a full hour after I checked in from their personal phone for no reason. It was unsettling, they didn't call so it shouldn't have been an accidental redial. The Assistant Manager confirmed that it was their number. It was unsettling and I am not normally a woman is overly concerned around traveling alone.
Pros: Free, quick shuttle (only to/from the airport), free breakfast (wasn't that great but had a really impressive coffee set up), all staff were nice, the lobby is pretty nice and has a market, Applebees shares a parking lot and they seemed open late. Despite being outdated it was pretty clean. Had a fridge and possibly microwave. Need a key to get into the lobby at night. Can quickly get to other areas of the city by car.
Cons: Some rooms you can't see out the window, a bit noisy, outdated and more importantly potentially being scammed/put in an unsafe situation. Not really walkable, not too...
Read moreWe stayed for the weekend. We were greeted while trying to check in early. They had a room avaliable, but not what we had requested. We were told the room would be done by 3. We came back at 320 and it was a new front desk person. She said the room was not documented as done, but texted the housekeeper to see if it was done. Luckily the room was done. The room was a standard room. There was no safe in the room. The only complaint I had was the shower. We like the shower fairly hot, the water got hot, but not hot enough for either of us. The bed was comfy. Our room faced the highway and when loud vehicles passed you could hear them. On the other side of the parking lot was Bubbas. Each night the parking lot got full with their customers. Something to be aware of, the hotel should let customers know, you get a discount at Bubbas with a hotel key from this hotel. Breakfast was decent. The scrambled eggs were good and the bacon was crispy. I would have liked hard- boiled eggs or cheese for the scrambled eggs. Otherwise, sufficient items to make you full. There are a decent amount of stores withing a 5 minute drive from the hotel. There is also a movie theater nearby that you could walk to if you wanted. We used the hot tub and the bubbles are very nice. It was probably only 100 degrees give or take. We prefer around 104 and it was definitely not that hot. But the bubbles aloud for a relaxing 15 minutes. Overall, we would...
Read moreThis place is... Well.. A hotel.. I guess.. My boss and I stayed two nights at this hotel and the lady who booked it over the phone was a bit, lets say, hard to understand. It was pretty clear that she didn't understand the policies and procedures of the job and when we finally arrived that same evening, it almost seemed like she was sleeping in the lobby whilst watching TV. It was pretty humorous to me, but not so much after a long drive. When asked basic questions about the room, such as, if the room offered coffee and if we could get extra if we requested it, she couldn't answer anything without a question response. "I think so?" "Probably?" "I'm not sure". It was a train wreck to watch. After the first nights stay we were awoken by room service who informed that we were only booked for one day, and that we would need to contact the front desk to stay another night. "Here we go again". After talking to the front desk person, who by the way was much better than the night shift person, we got booked for the second night. Overall the experience felt like a rip off at the prices paid for the room. It blows my mind how much one person can influence the overall experience of travelling. I could not recommend this place with employees so poorly managed....
