Dillard's in Alexandria Louisiana needs better training for their employees. Looking for a certain perfume. I was in the perfume area, I talked to this young lady & she couldn't help me. I love shopping at Dillard's mainly in the women's clothing, so I get over there in the women's area and looking around then the same young lady that I talked to, came up to me to inform me there was a young lady that would like to speak to me but she has a boot on her foot and she can't get up. Assuming it's about that certain perfume, I inquire about, that on my way back to the perfume area, I asked her if she knew if this is about the perfume that I'm looking for. The young lady said I don't think so, so the other young lady is in a perfume area when I get there she wants to know if I want a Dillard's card. I was interrupted for something that she would benefit from. That was uncalled for!! I've been shopping with Dillard's for a very long time and this was so unprofessional!!! It makes me wonder what exactly is Dillard's turning into. I will never return to that Dillard's. I like going to Dillard's because to me it's an upscale store but after visiting Alexandria's Dillard's, it's far from being the upscale store I've become familiar with!! That's not the Dillard's that I've known all my life, made it feel below the standards that I hope they ALWAYS hold their...
Read moreDillard's has always maintained a certain reputation that caters to the folks with a high social status so to speak and their prices absolutely reflect that. However, they do have some good prices on their clearance items but one must have the time to search for those clearance items. I was just there shopping today and couldn't help but feel the coldness of some of the employees. It almost makes you feel as if you are in the wrong place or your lower class business isn't appreciated there. However, I continued my browsing and even purchased 3 items. I'm quite certain they prefer the "Big Spenders" opposed to the clearance rack shoppers and actually I kind of felt that today. It's perfectly fine with me and I don't plan on going on another shopping trip to Dillard's anytime soon. Matter of fact, I can skip on over to JC Penney and feel much more comfortable shopping there and it isn't quite as cold there as Dillard's and the employees are much more courteous and to everybody, not just the "High Society" customers. Dillard's could actually learn a thing or two from other retailers...
Read moreBeing from the Midwest, this was the first Dillard's store I've visited. They have a fabulous assortment of high-quality items that I'm accustomed to seeing at high-end retailers like Nordstrom, but with a MUCH better price (probably owing to its location and demographics here in Alexandria).
The associates are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make themselves available - but without trying to be pushy or pressuring me to purchase things.
In this day and age of online retail, it's refreshing for me to discover new department store chains like Dillard's that are not only thriving but continuing to offer high-quality products and service that cater uniquely to the local community, i.e. without each store feeling like a carbon-copy of one another. They seem to truly care about their customers and...
