Hello,
My name is James Conley from , Ohio, and I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience with your tires.
While driving on US-24, a semi-truck blew a tire and debris scattered across the roadway. I swerved to avoid it, but still struck some of the debris. The impact caused significant damage to my tires—but to my surprise and relief, they held air and carried me safely for 24 more miles until I was able to reach a store for replacement.
Unfortunately, the store did not have the same brand available. I had to settle for a set of Goodyear 235/40/R19 tires, which are not the correct size for my Lincoln MKZ (it calls for 245/40/R19). I checked with other stores in the area as well, but all quoted me a two-day wait, so I had no choice at the time.
I am attaching pictures of the front, left, and right tires to show the extent of the damage they absorbed while still keeping me safely on the road. I truly believe these tires saved my life, and I am very grateful for the level of safety and performance they provided.
Thank you for making a product I can trust. I look forward to replacing them with the correct size of your brand as...
Read moreOkay, quick. Without asking the Internet, name five brands of tires.
This was my list: Michelin, Firestone, Pirelli, Goodyear, Continental. How did you do? Was Uniroyal on your list?
Uniroyal was founded 1892 as the United States Rubber Company in Connecticut as part of the merger of nine separate companies which was one of the biggest corporate consolidations at the time. They became a major supplier for General Motors as an OEM manufacturer.
In 1985, Uniroyal merged its tire operations with B.F. Goodrich, forming the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company and they were later acquired by Michelin in 1990, ending its run as an independent company. And I can't remember ever having a Uniroyal on my many vehicles.
The Uniroyal Giant Tire was built for the 1964 New York World's Fair as a Ferris wheel styled structure. It was moved here to Allen Park and remains a symbol of their legacy. You can't miss it...
Read moreI drove by there and stomped because there was a Pokemon that I wanted to catch and the application said that it was located at the bottom of the tire. The tire was originally made out of an old ferris wheel That Was Then covered with rubber and used as advertising for Uniroyal it has been there forever I can even see it from my backyard during the winter. It's a local Oddity with some degree of international Fame. It is not recommended that you pull over to try and visit it as it were. It's completely surrounded by fencing and barbed wire. Aside from that you need to pull over on the side of an extremely busy highway and the police do not take very kindly to those who pull over merely for the purpose of viewing the attraction as it interferes with traffic and as a...
