This restaurant should be renamed to the Krappy Krab. My experience was from a dine in prospective. I should have known it was going to be questionable when we arrived during a dinner rush and no one was in the parking lot. We questioned if the business was opened. Entering the building, the staff was lurking around the door, and failed to provide a proper greeting. I had a bad feeling, and the only reason I didn't leave was because the people I was with wanted to give it a chance.
The waitress was uninterested, there were gnats that were so braisen that one landed on my nose. The alcholic drinks were not consistent, one was thick the other filled with alcohol. I will say when you mixed them together you got an amazing concoction. It is almost as if the bartender knew that they should liquor you up to keep you calm in anticipation of the experience you were about to encounter.
The coconut shrimp had no coconut and was at best coney island quality. The crab cakes were prefab and cold in the center, reeking of being frozen quality. The French fries were bland and tasteless. The crab had no legs. The cocktail sauce was much to be desired. For a fifty dollar boil, the least that could be offered is a cup of white rice. Not sure why it was so shocking to the waitress why my order of water and pop was so shocking to her, as she repeated back to me three times if that is what I wanted.
When we arrived, the waitress was at the door, chilling with a few other employees. After she served the food, she was no where to be found. She never asked did we need anything else, she never questioned if we were enjoying or meal, she just ghosted us. We had to find someone to find her. I wonder how many dine and dashes do they encounter. She finally surfaced and brought out to-go containers and the bill. We had to again find someone to hunt her down to pay her. They never found her. She never returned. One of her co-workers felt bad for us and took the payment.
This place is a real life "Kitchen Nightmare" where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him. I left a tip. Not because I felt it was commensurate to the service we received, more so because I felt sorry for her during the holidays.
I feel anything that bad is a leadership problem. This place needs and overhaul, the concept is good but, it reeks of people who are not happy to be there. It lacks people who love what they do. I felt like the waitress did not avail herself as she was not receiving complaints that day. I could be wrong. She didn't even assist with taken the boil out the bag. The owner really needs to take a serious look at what is going on with this restaurant and make changes soon. For the money we paid, compared to the service and product we received was poor. I can say, i personally will never come back, especially since there are other restaurants in this class that i can go to; however I do believe the concept of the restaurant is...
Read moreFirst off, let me start off that this was my first time here. I knew nothing about the menu but I came there for a seafood boil. I dined in and had a young waitress. She didnt seem very professional from the get go. I asked her questions about the seafood boils and she replied with "huh? I'm confused " when I asked her if there's an additional charge to add stuff to the boil. So with no help, I just ordered shrimp. When I received it, it was a few pieces of shrimp with 2 small potatoes and a small corn. Barely filled me up..but whatever, I didn't know bcuz I received no advice whatsoever. Our waitress was attending while eating but towards the end she said "I just had 2 parties walk in so...." I was like well, we'll take the bill I guess. That must have been her que that she was done servicing me. My bill was $23.56. I then paid with card and left a $5 tip making my total $28.56. 2 days later I look on my bank statement and it's charged $38.56. I called and spoke with a lady, she said it showed I left a $15 tip. I said absolutely not, look at my total, it does not add up right. She then went and talked to her GM but she was too busy to talk to me, so the lady took my info down and said she would call back, never did of course. I called back later that night and spoke with another lady, told her my situation and asked for the GM, she also told me the GM wanted to relay the message that i can come pick up my $10 or use it as a credit for my next order. Why cant it be refunded to my card? But sure I'll come get it. So I drove back up there to get my $10 cuz I will not let some waitress get away with stealing my money. $10 or $1.. it doesnt matter. The point is, i was ripped off. When I came in, the GM was very apologetic, i appreciated that. She said she was unsure how that happened. I didn't want to start a fuss but I know exactly what happened.. my money was stolen. I'm sure this wasnt her first rodeo either. Luckily, I look at my statement on the daily and caught it. If that waitress was unsure if it was $5 or $15 for a tip, she would have looked at my total and figured it out. So with all that being said, I will not be returning due to fear that my money will be stolen again. Maybe hire some older mature people to run the place...
Read moreThe owners definitely seemed to have put effort in the design of this place. It is well laid out and guests are greeted with clean vibrant and warm decor and setting. The host was very inviting and professional and sat us immediately as there were only about 5 tables of guests at this point in the evening. The server unfortunately was rude and seemed to lack average communication skills. She finally arrived to our table after 10 minutes of being seated. Our waters were served with no ice. When our food did finally arrive, the server pushed it on a utility cart that appeared similar to a bus cart for dishes. She seemed to have a hard time steering it and ran our food into a chair. I asked if they had hot sauce and she replied "yes, we do" and disappeared chatting on speakerphone yelling at someone, , never to return with hot sauce. Other workers were seen walking around but didn't seem to have an actual role, maybe they were kitchen staff. When the host walked by we asked for hot sauce and she responded in a professional and courteous manner. The shrimp po boy looked like a Burger King version of a BK chicken sandwich with shrimp. The bread was smashed like it was a 30 deep drive thru order and left much to be desired. The catfish and shrimp basket with sweet potato fries was decent but the fries could have used salt although the server was no where to be found. When another guest asked the server for something on her way to a different table she aggressively responded "two seconds ," and it was evident she needed more training in customer service. It is really toxic to ignore this type of behavior in the workplace. Sometimes coaching is all that's necessary to change it, however, if left unchecked it will destroy a business. Good luck. Unfortunately we are going to miss out on the boil bags that I'm sure are amazing, all because of one bad attitude. I do hope this business succeeds. Take out seemed to be a popular option. On our way out, I told the host, "I apologize that I cannot tip the server as she was rude but thank you for being professional and helping with our request," and...
