Denney Electric Supply — Attraction in Ambler

Went online via Google to get background and telephone # for Denney Electric Supply, located on Butler Avenue, in Ambler - and found that they were open today at 6:30 a.m. (an opening time simply unheard of with such a firm/store!!!) and placed a call there about 6:45 a.m. this morning - the Voice that answered was kind and answered my questions as to how I might come - with a floor lamp! - and bring it to the attention of one of their repairmen. Needless to say, once there my unique problem with the upper light socket of the lamp - the one that enables a turn to a 3-way bulb - and that black turning knob just no longer worked for me. Well, what to my wondering eyes but the kind and tall man - with a kind smile - looked at the bottom gold-colored base for this 3-way bulb - and found that the smallish black knob that turned on this bulb - had just sprung its socket - and he went to find another! Lo and behold he came back with a new black turning-on-knob that worked (!!!) and would not take any payment for his finding just the item the floor lamp needed - nor for the replacement knob - and he even took my somewhat-heavy floor lamp down the stairs and out to my car for me. It's not often that a sales associate takes the time - offers his assistance and kindness in such a way that he literally has made my day for me today. (Especially with my husband in the hospital, handling home-items that are new to me - and to be serviced by one of the wonderful men who work at the Ambler location of Denney Electric Supply. Bravo to that kind man - bravo to the way in which you and your staff treat any/all who come through your doors - even at the earliest hours of the day! Very Disappointed in Denny Electric. After numerous attempts at trying to resolve an issue with a chandelier that was brought in to rewire, we have heard NOTHING! We were first told that an arm had disintegrated!! questioned that response because other than needing rewiring, it was intact. V When we picked up the chandelier to take it elsewhere, we were then told that "someone" in the store broke the tip of an arm but that no one would confess. (first time someone was actually honest as I was quick to blame the repair person!) It was successfully rewired elsewhere. However, a crystal was not able to be hung from the broken arm because the piece they ordered in efforts to correct the situation was not the correct piece. This is a beautiful vintage chandelier with sentimental value. We expect some resolution,...

I can’t rate this store high enough. I stumbled across it on total accident and I am glad I did. From the moment I walked in it was exceptional service. I had the pleasure of meeting Joan who was straight forward and didn’t mess around, she asked specific questions to understand what I was looking for, provided me with details on how to measure in my home, and then gave me a stack of books to look through. After I looked through my books I emailed her and made an appointment to come in and get her perspective on what I selected. She was extremely helpful and I really felt that she understood my style.
