Fred Astaire Dance Studios — Attraction in Ann Arbor

My wife and I were fortunate enough to go to Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Ann Arbor to get ready for our first dance. Less than a month before our wedding we found the perfect song and kind of assumed it would be impossible to do anything but embarrass ourselves given the timeline.

We decided to ask the professionals and we are so happy we did! Cameron and Natasha were not only exceptionally talented they were so kind and fun that the dance class became a super nice break from the stress of wedding planning every week and something we really looked forward to. Our guests were also impressed and are still - two months later - sending us photos and videos from our dance. I’m a dancer at a different Fred Astaire studio, but this week I was in Ann Arbor for work. I dropped in to FADS Ann Arbor to practice on my own and attend the group Intermediate Argentine Tango class and I am so delighted that I did. Everyone here was so kind and instantly treated me as part of their dance family. Thank you Christina, Aleksa, and Platon for such a warm welcome! And if you’re looking for a deep dive into Argentine tango, Platon is a true expert; his class was fantastic and just dancing with him was a treat. I learned so much in just 45 minutes, and he even went above and beyond to give me some individualized tips. My flight home leaves first thing in the morning, or I’d definitely be back for all the Saturday classes and activities. What a wonderful studio! Hope our paths...

We came here with zero experience dancing and absolutely no sense of rhythm looking for help with our first dance for our wedding. All we had was the song we wanted and an ask for a "big move". We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in and looked forward to coming each week.

Zara was patient with us, made sure we had fun, and is absolutely incredible at what he does. Within minutes, he had most of our dance figured out and worked with us on each detail to make it great. We did 5 or 6 lessons leading up to our wedding and the reviews of the dance included "best first dance I have ever seen" accompanied by a lot of cheering. It set the tone for our night and left us feeling incredible on the best day...
