We just had dinner for the 1st time at the newly opened CoreLife Eatery located in Ann Arbor’s Westgate Shopping Center. They have many healthy options, including salads and bowls... they offer suggested bowls, plus build-your-own options — more than any other spot in town. Because it is a new place I am willing to try it a few times to give them time to get everything right. I ordered the Korean barbecue pork rice bowl, only they ran out of pork so we substituted beef. The steak in my bowl was warm, not hot. The food assembly was good until the last station, they forgot to add the house made BBQ sauce. And I only noticed that because the bowl was rather dry. So I had to go back for that. The beef was well done and a bit chewy. The drinks are all natural and quite refreshing. Everything is competitively priced. All in all it was a better than average experience with room for some improvements. Next time I’ll try the Cobb salad and see if I can adjust my rating up.

One of the best spots in Ann Arbor for a wholesome, healthy meal! Reminds me of a more customizable, and creative version of chipotle. Pros: lots of signature bowls and make your own bowls!, affordable, lots of healthy options, nice employees Cons: the noodles in the Thai peanut bowl today were very hard (surprising because I’ve never had this issue before), location isn’t ideal for most students in Ann Arbor but that’s barely a real con PRO TIP: get the core life app for $5 off first order! Highly recommend! The flavors have never disappointed and I always go here after one too many unhealthy meal

Unfortunately the food here is just average which isn't good enough for the price. I got the Southwest Grilled Chicken and Purple Rice bowl and the flavor just wasn't there despite the fact that it comes with a lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette dressing which should be very bold. That said, the chicken itself was cooked well, and the Cranberry Cayenne Lemonade was really good. The design and layout was nice, but they really need to step up flavor-wise. There's a lot of competition in this space here, and I'd rather go to Fresh Forage or something similar to that 100% of the time.

This place is a hidden gem! I wanted something on the healthier side and this was it. Note they also have great customer service. So i ordered the Spicy Ginger steak and rice noodles with beef broth. Although it was in the broth everything tasted fresh...the kale, noodles, pickled onions, etc. It was like eating a soup with veggies. It also reminded of eating a good ramen. In addition, I got a steak fajita taco on Naan. I should mention, really like their grilled steak and they prices arent expensive either. Next week when I order my taco, i will get pickled onions on it to add a kick. Flavors were good but I like a kick. The lemonades were worth trying too. The beet lemonade might surprise you cause the beet flavor is mild but I promise you will taste the cayenne pepper in the cranberry cayenne pepper lemonade. The other person with me ordered the Steak Bacon and Bleu without the bacon and with kale instead of romaine. I should note you can customize anything you order! The ingredients for it were also fresh. The kale and mesclun weren't wilted. The tomatoes were firm and it tasted great. The only negative was the cranberry vinaigrette which we got of the side. For us it tasted too oily but the ranch was good. So if you want to eat at nice eatery with great customer service and great tasting healthy great food...

Love the food; very sad about new policies (attitudes?) about supporting those with food allergies/diseases. I have Celiac disease (an autoimmune disease that causes my body to destroy the lining of my small intestine when exposed to microscopic amounts of gluten). Initially CoreLife had no gluten on the line. They even labeled any ingredients that may have been exposed to gluten outside of the restaurant. Gluten (naan) was added to the line for tacos and the line gets contaminated when ingredients are placed on the naan (I have personally observed). Some employees have accommodated me simply by getting the uncontaminated bins of food that haven't been on the line yet to make my meal. Unfortunately, I was told that the GM specifically addressed the employees and told them not to do this for me anymore because it takes more time. I do not expect everyone to understand how difficult my disease is to manage, but the sign at the beginning of the line specifically says they will accommodate food "allergies". I am very limited in where I can eat and previously found CoreLife to be a special oasis where I could feel normal. Very...
