Rude customer service at check out. I went to TJ Maxx the other day, which I normally do on payday. Perhaps there was something was in the air. Per usual they were short staffed at checkout, which at this location, I'm used to.. The line is usually long with one or two cashiers working. Again, totally fine. After waiting, I was called to register 5 where I believe the manger was working. She was an older black women and after saying hello, she didn't reply. I asked how her day was going and she asked me if I wanted to apply for a job???!?!?!? It came off very condescending. I told her no and again, asked how her day was. She rolled her eyes at me, and said fine. She then proceeded to hang up clothes behind the counter as I just stood there, waiting for her to ring up the winter jacket i wanted to purchase. After about 2 minutes of just standing there; she finally rang up my order. I smiled and said thank you and again she rolled her eyes.
Honestly, this tj maxx is quite busy. I get that. But just because you're having a bad day or even at rush times, I expected more from a member of management. I suggest they work with their employees on being more friendly and approachable.
I will say the other two employees I interacted with were wonderful. Very friendly and smiling. Overall I'm unsatisfied with my visit today and will just go to the Brighton location...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBoth times I shopped both cashiers helping me werenāt very welcoming. The second time not only was I treated poorly but I was charged for the items I was returning AGAIN. I was visiting my mom and not paying attention, confident even with the poor service that the cashier knew what she was doing. I called when I returned home a few days later and the same cashier answered the phone, although I immediately asked for a manager she questioned me on which number cashier I visited, making me wonder if she has had complaints before. She got the manager after I answered her question. He wasnāt helpful either, no consideration for the fact that this was not my mistake. I had to escalate to customer service, who eventually did help but I was only returned the second charge of the items, and never refunded the initial charge that should have been refunded when I returned the items. I called again to confirm the initial refund would be deposited but it never did arrive. Iāve never had such terrible customer service. Iām not sure Iāll return to any TJ MAXX which is a shame. I am still owed $35 but at this point itās not worth my time. I spent lots of money with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI havenāt had very good experiences in this TJ Maxx and generally go to a different location if I can. They donāt have a large variety of items that Iām interested in and the parking lot is always packed. Iām autistic with sensory issues so when I try on clothing I remove the tags, making sure that the tag is in pristine condition so that the store can reattach if it doesnāt work out. I have never run into an issue with doing this and always check the corporate policy before buying clothing from a store. TJ Maxx has always had an amazing return policy until today. The woman grilled me about why I took the tags off and when I told her that I was autistic with sensory issues she acted like I was a criminal. I wonāt be shopping at this store again because itās clear that they donāt care about the autistic community. If I have to out myself just to get a return that falls within corporate policy I will find a more accepting location to do...
