I really wanted to like this store, but I left feeling frustrated and honestly pretty embarrassed.
I found two plain t-shirts on a rack with a big sign saying “Plain T-Shirts & Plain Tank Tops $1.50 (No graphics or writing).” I even told the cashier while checking out that they were plain, just to be sure. She didn’t listen and charged me $12 for both.
When I saw the total, I asked for the receipt to understand why. I calmly told her there must have been a mistake and showed her the shirts again. Instead of helping, she flat out told me she didn’t believe me. I was shocked. I offered to show her the rack — she finally looked at the shirts and then snapped that they don’t do refunds, I told her that I don’t need one, I just want a fair price, she told me that she’d only adjust the price for one because the gray one had small metal rings on the sleeves.
I explained that the sign says no graphics or writing — it doesn’t say anything about tiny metal details — and they were both hanging under that exact sign. She wouldn’t answer me, just called the manager and said to me “Explain yourself,” then walked away. It was so rude and embarrassing, especially because I was there with my daughter who watched the whole thing.
The manager was nicer, but still told me the same thing: no refunds, no exchange, no store credit — and apparently anything “extra” means they can charge you full price even if it’s on the rack for $1.50 and don’t have any graphics or text.
I left feeling humiliated, frustrated, and disappointed. A simple “Sorry for the mix-up” would have helped, but I didn’t even get that. I really hope they treat future customers better than...
Read moreGood selection. But for a place that is supposed to be for Veterans they make it hard to get the 10% Veterans Discount they advertise. Things are priced higher in order for them to alternate 25% -50% off on different days. But the only time you can get 10% off is off of full price items. I think the 10% veterans discount should be off of whatever your total is regardless of what discounts are that day. The way it is now is you basically have to wait until there are no discounts on something in order to just get 10% off. There are higher discounts taken off various items everyday of the week. There is no benefit at all being a Veteran. At a place that claims to be for Veterans. Then there is an entire Boutique section that gets no discounts at all. Not even 10%. Ontop of that I looked up this thrift stores charitable rating. 23 % is what they give and the CEO makes over $250,000 a year. Im sure there are many more profiting from this non profit organization. I over heard one of the main tight wads who works there or should I say profits from there speaking to the volunteers about how much was made last year compared to this year. They seemed a bit concerned it was slightly off mark. But why the concern? I highly doubt any Veterans will feel...
Read moreI had prepared many expensive items to donate that were meaningful to me but as a Vietnam veteran, I thought that the items would help other veterans. Upon the truck arriving, I had some heavy items close to the street for easy pickup. Unfortunately, the 2 men made some negative comments of my valued items and disrespected me; talking down on me plus accept the items the opposite of what their supervisor told me. I then told them that I doubt that they want to help veterans & mentioned that Goodwill would receive my items instead, I then entered my home. I did take some items...
