The staff has consistently been helpful for the many years I’ve been shopping here. It seems like a few of them have even become good friends! If you ask a staff person where something is, they typically know. Or they say I’ll walk you there, or, we’ll find it for you.
Most importantly, the selection of annuals and perennials is superb. If they have too few in stock for a complete planting, like foxgloves, in the color that I want, they’ve called to say when more are on hand. It’s also nice that they can check with other locations for me. It's lovely to shop in the back, outdoors, where the perennials and annuals are on tables and racks, and are well-maintained.
Their plants are healthy and have sound root systems. I have never arrived home to discover aphids or other pests, mildew, or too root-bound systems. So, they are meticulous in checking things over all the time to offer premium plants. Sometimes, they have a good stock of English roses and several own-root varieties.
I’ve also ordered fresh flower stems for special occasions when I’ve wanted to supplement my own garden cuttings. You can also request specialty flowers in advance for pickup. Naturally, they are ready-to-go floral arrangements, too.
Also, they typically have on hand the garden supplies that I need. An excellent selection of orchids is consistently on hand. They also have a vast selection of fresh Christmas greens and décor items. It’s also handy that they provide tissue paper for gift items. On occasion, they helped me to my car when I had more items I could manage on my own.
I highly value and recommend this local family business. Thank you to each one who offers enthusiasm, gardening...
Read moreHad an absolute joke of an experience with Bachman's just now. My first clue should have been that I called yesterday and left a message that I wanted to place an order and no one ever called me back. But alas - I did not heed this warning and I called again today.
After being on hold for several minutes, I finally get to talk to someone and attempted to place my order. I was told everyone was busy after another period on hold (not sure what the Chad I was talking to was doing but mmkay..) So I was given a number to call the order center. I can't be transferred to the order center? No. So I take down the number and I call a different place. After a very long stint on hold, I get to talk to someone who takes my entire order and then when she is slightly stumped by something I ask, she rudely transfers me to customer service without telling me she's doing so. After another hold, a customer service lady comes on and we are both baffled. I explain to her my tale of woe and she interrupts to tell me that she does not take orders and that I have called the wrong department. I explain to her again that I did not call her and I was transferred to her against my will. She then transfers me back to orders, and I hear that old familiar hold music. At this point, I gave up and called a small local shop, Christine's, and had a lovely experience and finally got my order taken care of, but not before I wasted half an hour of my life trying to do business...
Read moreMoved to Burnsville recently so I thought I’d try Apple Valley Bachman’s. Went there in the middle of July to purchase some pots for my deck. Noticed they had a sale…. Got to the register and “no those planters are not included in the sale” I didn’t see any exclusions in the ad” of course that planter was $69.99! Fast forward 5 days later planters are 50% off. I called to inquire if they do a price adjustment put on hold “yes we do within 7 days” “ please come today or tomorrow” I said “ok great I’ll come soon” Arrived at Apple Valley Bachman’s the pot STILL EXCLUDED! Seriously WTH and the other pots I bought 5 days ago are 50% off “we can’t give you a discount on top of a discount, because you got them already on sale” what? I used to think Bachman’s was “the best” but today’s visit has ruined that for me! The manager “Jessica” needs some training in customer service. She failed miserably and Bachman’s has lost a customer! She needs to rethink her job career! No solution or meeting me half way. Target treats their customers as guests, maybe Bachman’s ought to try that out. I will not shop here again, Home Depot sells better flowers and scrubs and honestly at way...
