My daughter and I come here often because the food and drinks are usually great and the restaurant is pretty cheap for what you get. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning after last week’s experience. I decided to come here with family who were in town for a funeral. I thought this would be a chill spot to spend some time together before they went home. That was the worst service experience I ever received and the first time I’ve not tipped a server. It started off with her missing drink instructions twice, which I honestly didn’t care about. I was cool about, and she brought out another drink that was correct that I didn’t ask for. No problem! When the food came out, everyone got their food but my sister. The waitress told my sister her food was right behind ours and left which was fine. Usually that means 1-2 minutes, right? However, 5 minutes goes by and the food still doesn’t come out. We all felt bad and started sharing food with my sister, but she wasn’t angry about. The problem was the waitress never came back. So not only were we looking around wondering about the missing plate, but drinks were empty, and someone at the table wanted seasoning. Eventually, we started asking the bar tender for things. 15 minutes later, I realized my sisters food still hadn’t come out. At this point, most of us were finished with our food and my sister was full off of eating from our plates, but I got up to find out what was going on. The problem wasn’t about the food, it was that the waitress just never came back or communicated what was going on. If you forget to put in order or whatever it was, just tell us! Things happen. Don’t just avoid our table. Anyway, the manager was initially nice and tried to resolve the issue. My sister’s food was comped and he even offered to take $15 dollars off of my bill as well. Long story short, after we spoke to the manager about our server who was MIA, she was clearly annoyed and being petty when we asked for anything as if we were in the wrong. Long story short, our experience with her kept getting worse and we started to get angry as well. When we were finally able to pay our bill which also took forever, we left and won’t be coming back. It sucks that this was the experience I had with family I rarely see, especially with the reason they were in town. I’ve been a server and always understanding when things go wrong because I get it. It wasn’t about the drinks or missing food.. it was her ignoring us, the attitude, and lack of acknowledgement that she was in the wrong. Oh, and there were multiple servers, and maybe 4-5 tables so, it’s not like they...
Read moreI have been eating here for about 10 years! Faithfully, so much so that many of the management team members know me and my friends. I hesitated to leave this review as I love this place but the service we received should be known. The server that took our order came to the table with one basket of chips and took our drink order. I politely for another basket of chips, as we had others coming and were walking in the door as we were ordering drinks for the table. She replied when you finish these I will get you some more. Excuse me? When did this rule come about? She walked away and begin to take another order behind us. Now she didn’t write our order down, nor did she write the order of the table behind us down. She returned to our table with the extra basket of chips that she tossed on the table and the drinks. However the drink order was wrong. I explained to her that our order was wrong and she said “that’s not what you told me you wanted” I’m sorry, but I’ve been eating here for the last 10 years and I order pretty much the same drink. I said no problem we will just keep them but we would like to reorder the drinks correctly. She walked off and started talking Spanish to one of coworkers while pointed at our table. I asked for the manger on duty, and she went over to the bartender and told him that she didn’t want to wait on us anymore. I got up and walked to the bar ans asked what was the problem? Her attitude was disappointing and her tone was off. I explained to her that we eat here all the time and the way that she was treating us was unwarranted and not acceptable. I requested the bill and told her that we were leaving. She walked away to get the manager I requested. I saw her speaking with him, and to ensure that he had the accurate story, I walked over to him to explain it. He did apologize, and offered to remake the drinks. I told him, no thank you, I would just like the bill. I paid for the wrong drinks that we didn’t drink, and free chip/s and left. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day, or what but you should never argue with a guest about a drink that can be remade.your chips and salsa are given out free. Why is it a problem to provide an extra basket...
Read moreMy favorite chill, eat out spot!🥰🤗…simply because my Husband and I went to the Chevy’s in Brandywine (before it was closed 😔) for our first date and after he proposed a couple months later, we decided to have a pre-wedding dinner there because it was so special to us, being the spot where our love was kindled. We’d go there all the time before it was closed down. So, biases and all, Chevy’s gets a straight 5!❤️💪🏾 but let me tell you why they actually deserve it though😂😉…#1: consistency, they won’t let you down. You’ll receive consistently good food with flavor, tipsy drinks, service and atmosphere…it’s always great here. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the food at any location and/or the servers. Crispy cantina style chips and herb popping salsa! (I love when I can easily taste the fresh cilantro in my salsa)…they’re the only place where I can get a half-half margarita made the way I like it…that’s half frozen/half on the rocks…so good! Gives me a nice buzz off of one, if I’m feeling a lil plucky I’ll go back a lil more maybe for two, lol!
This time we were helped by Delia and she was awesome! But like I said, good service every time. You never wait long and it’s never brought out wrong! (I already coined that phrase so no stealing, 🤦🏾♀️😂) I tried the crab and shrimp enchiladas and it was delish. (Had an entire meal left over too😏)…I love when I actually muster up the strength to try a different dish at my favorite restaurant and actually like it…and not be mad that I didn’t get my regular! 😂🤣😂
Also, they DID NOT raise prices to a point where it’s gouging consumers like other businesses did after Covid…very reasonably priced menu and actually, it’s almost the same as before the pandemic hit. I really appreciate that and have to give a shout out to all the business who aren’t taking advantage of American consumers right now.
Definitely go to Chevy’s! I hope you have a wonderful time. We still have the sombreros from our Pre-Wedding Dinner and make sure to stop in once every few months simply...
