Lapu Lapu — Restaurant in Arlington

Lapu Lapu recently opened its doors in Pentagon City, and it's a must-visit for anyone craving Filipino-inspired breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and desserts. Their collaboration with the renowned Maryland-based bakery, Gwenie’s Pastries, further elevates the experience. We savored the Corned Beef and Chorizo sandwiches, both served on delicious Pan De Sal buns with juicy patties that were phenomenal.

The pastries and lattes from Gwenie’s were nothing short of fantastic. We enjoyed freshly baked treats paired with a rich Spanish Latte and a vibrant Matcha Strawberry Latte. The Cassava cake was delectably sweet and chewy, while the cheese bread was soft, fluffy, and filled with sweet cream cheese that truly delighted the palate.

The ambiance at Lapu Lapu is clean and tidy, making for a pleasant dining environment. Although the seating area is a bit cozy, enhancing it with traditional tables and chairs would undoubtedly improve the overall dining experience for those who...

The food was SO goood!! I got the Paksiw and omg: the meat was super tender, the egg was cooked to create the perfect texture (complimented the sandwich perfectly), and the bread... THE BREADDDD. They told me that it was made by Gwenie's and I COULD TELL. I've never had such soft sandwich buns in my life. So pillowy. Excited to come back and try out more of their menu! The people that work there are also very nice! And the flavor of their ube ice cream is just stellarrr. I wish I could have had the control to take a picture, but I didn't. Y'all will just have to come in and see the glorious sandwich...

I was SO excited for this location, very happy that they got a great spot in Arlington. I bet it would be busy in the coming days. But I visited on a Wednesday morning on their soft opening and got to order Corned Beef -that I didn’t get a picture of because I just went for a huge bite- the potato chips in it was a perfect addition to the all around texture of the pan de sal, the slaw, it was great- to top it off, there’s dessert two steps away. What a great collaboration. I look forward to coming here to try more of...
