Lapu Lapu recently opened its doors in Pentagon City, and it's a must-visit for anyone craving Filipino-inspired breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and desserts. Their collaboration with the renowned Maryland-based bakery, Gwenie’s Pastries, further elevates the experience. We savored the Corned Beef and Chorizo sandwiches, both served on delicious Pan De Sal buns with juicy patties that were phenomenal.
The pastries and lattes from Gwenie’s were nothing short of fantastic. We enjoyed freshly baked treats paired with a rich Spanish Latte and a vibrant Matcha Strawberry Latte. The Cassava cake was delectably sweet and chewy, while the cheese bread was soft, fluffy, and filled with sweet cream cheese that truly delighted the palate.

THE BREADDDD. They told me that it was made by Gwenie's and I COULD TELL. I've never had such soft sandwich buns in my life. So pillowy. Excited to come back and try out more of their menu! But I visited on a Wednesday morning on their soft opening and got to order Corned Beef -that I didn’t get a picture of because I just went for a huge bite- the potato chips in it was a perfect addition to the all around texture of the pan de sal, the slaw, it was great- to top it off, there’s dessert two steps away.
