Good dog getaway near UTA campus.
Today, I brought my two dogs to check out Arlington’s new downtown dog park, and they had a blast. Separate areas for large and small dogs if you need them — keeps things organized. Cold water at the pump flows freely and the turf-to-grass combo gives the little guys different terrain to run around on. Wasn’t too crowded during our visit, which was nice. Parking is relatively straightforward if you’re driving in, though you may need to park across the railroad tracks near Rotary Dream Park and walk to the entrance on the corner of Mesquite and Main Street. Overall, you can tell the city put some good money into this with heavy sponsorship backing from local companies like Texas Trust and SFC Accounting and families; the clean facilities and solid curb appeal show the investment. Moose and Ingrid give it two paws up, with me happy to grab a seat in one of the loungers and watch the action unfold 🐾
The Doggie Depot is a quality addition to Downtown Arlington that delivers on what it promises. So kudos to...
Read moreWhat a great addition to the downtown space! It's got separation for small pups and larger ones. We only visited the larger space. There is a turf area for relaxing complete with chairs to sit in while the pups run around. The grass area is nice, just be sure to still pick up after your little ones, bags are provided. I think it would be nice to see some shade added over the turf areas ahead of the hotter months, it was plenty cool today but we know it won't last!
Look forward to seeing y'all out there! Big thanks to those that made it happen....
Read moreSmaller dog park, but it does have two separate areas. We had the place to ourselves on a Friday afternoon. Also stopped by on Sunday morning, a couple dogs there. My puppy had fun. There is water for the dogs. Plenty of benches to relax while pets have fun. While this place is newer, it was pretty dirty. People are not cleaning up after their dogs. They do provide bags so not sure why people are not picking it up. You don't have walk far for garbage? It's a shame. Plenty of street...
