Was excited to try this, but was honestly very let down. I ordered online as I only get a 30 minute break and wanted it to be ready when I got there. The online system is very user friendly and gives you the options to choose every topping you want on the burger. I made sure that NONE of the topping selections were pressed as I do not like lettuce and tomatoes on my burgers. I ordered the All American on the Brioche bun. Picked what meat and temperature I wanted it cooked to and double checked again that no toppings were selected. Ordered this burger and an order of their hand punched fries (Expensive at $3.25 but the picture looked amazing). When I got there to get my food it was ready at the pickup time which was perfect, I opened it to check though and the fries looked nothing like the picture online and I was given all the super small barely half an inch sized pieces. More like crumbs than actual fries. I checked the burger and it had pickles, lettuce and tomatoes on it. The person at the pick up counter listened when I explained I ordered it with none of this and all I asked for was a new bottom bun. They were very helpful and made a new bun for me. I asked if I had ordered wrong online and they told me no I had ordered correctly but āOur manager gets mad at us if we donāt put the toppings on the burgerā. I was shocked but I thanked them and took my food and left. Back at work and eating I was not impressed at all. As mentioned the fries were nothing like the picture, and had no taste besides grease. The burger looked like a frozen patty that was reheated. Didnāt taste like much either. So a very expensive and disappointing lunch. The thing that upset me the absolute most though was being told that the manager tells them to add toppings to the burgers even if toppings were not ordered. How does that make sense?? If I had gotten this food delivered then I would have been unable to eat it, it only was fixed since I picked it up myself. Why would you alter an order like this, makes no sense to me. I wonāt be back, which stinks as its super close to my job. But not worth the nearly $16 for a sub par burger that will come with toppings you didnāt order and sad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat food in Downtown Arlington! Tons of seating and good service. Recommended for anyone looking for a great stop in Arlington, TX - check out Twisted Root Burger Co.!
Food: Today we ordered the Freshman 15 (smashed fries on top, melted cheddar, fried egg and bacon), the Gosh Jam It (Texas herbed goat cheese, tomato-bacon-onion jam, chipotle sauce), and a kids burger. Highly recommend the two burgers we ordered, with a personal favorite in the Gosh Jam It. Their fries are fantastic - good portion of fries, seasoned lightly, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Be sure to also check out their homemade pickles with the different flavors - personal favorite is the sweet and spicy.
Seating: The times that we go, itās usually busy. However, thereās a lot of seating inside and a few picnic tables outside so weāve never had to wait for a table. They also have unique booth tables by the arcade that have a tailgate theme on the wall.
Service and price: Every time we go, weāve had no complaints with service. Quite the opposite. People are generally friendly, help give recommendations on the menu, and walk food over to your table if you order quite a bit. Price is closer to $15 per person, especially if you order a burger, side, and drink.
Parking: If you canāt find parking on the street, there are a couple lots about a block away that you can park in and walk to the restaurant.
Overall, Twisted Root is a staple for Downtown Arlington, TX close to UTA (University of Texas in Arlington). Family friendly environment. Great food. Itās in our rotation of frequently visited...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI believe this was our second time eating here. The only reason for going to this place is that is close to where our daughter rents an apartment.
The restaurant is "whatever" nothing special to say about it. The food, well, I will say I ordered the "all American Burger" or whatever it was and... when served, a couple leaves of lettuce and a slice of tomato on the side of the burger. The "burger" well, the meat was luke warm, the cheese was luke warm, the two slices of bacon were cold, the bun was soggy on the bottom... but wait it gets better... my wife ordered a burger that was supposed to come with avocado and when served well no avocado, go back to the counter and ask for it. WOW.
Then there was the sampler dish my daughter wanted, I am not into fried pickles, green beans or carrots and such but said ok and would eat fries... the fries tasted burnt and old. I threw the sampler plate in the trash.
Also, my wife used the restroom and said it was dirty.
The prices seemed excessive... especially considering the lack of quality in the meal.
In closing, I did not enjoy it and will not be back. Giving 2 stars out of kindness but really seems like a 1 star restaurant. And one last thing, you order, you pay and they ask for a tip before you ever eat? I will NEVER pay a tip before I eat...
